Until now, most know that DeMar DeRozan was responsible for foiling an attempt by a 22-year-old burglar to rob his home in Los Angeles.

But it appears he would have not been successful if he was not alerted about the intruder first.

According to police reports, it was the 7-year-old daughter of the San Antonio Spurs player that sounded the alarm which led to the arrest of Justin Bergquist.

Surveillance cameras show how Bergquist was peeping inside the house of DeRozan at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 19, TMZ reported.

Bergquist entered the home shirt-less through the sliding door. He was in the home for a good 17 minutes before bumping into the daughter of DeRozan.

"When the suspect saw [DeMar's daughter], he put his finger to his lips and signaled for her to be quiet,” read the police report of the incident.

Rather than doing that, the girl ran down the stairs and screamed for her parents. This was when DeRozan got up and looked for the burgler. This forced Bergquist to flee the scene.

While that was going on, DeRozan’s wife immediately called 911 and the LA County Sheriff’s Department. After some time, Bergquist was found and apprehended.

As mentioned in a previous report, it was not the first time that Bergquist had cruel intentions. He robbed one of the homes in the neighborhood last month. This time, his target was the abode of A-list celebrity Kylie Jenner.

After avoiding any apprehension, Bergquist returned to the gated community after some time to carry out his theft intentions. Unfortunately for him, security had ramped up and he was arrested.

The DeRozan's were not spared from property damage as a result of Bergquist’s break-in. Their sliding doors were damaged and it will cost roughly $15,000 to repair.

Bergquist now faces a felony burglary charge. He has also been ordered to stay away from both DeRozan and Jenner.

When DeRozan was asked about the ordeal, he said everything was fine. It appears he has faced worse situations since he grew up in Compton, California.
