In a place where they all built the foundation of their basketball resume, it is a no-brainer to reminisce the old days and, possibly, bring those memories to the NBA.

Charlotte Hornets center Willy Hernangomez traced his basketball roots in Spain – just like the Dallas Mavericks’ young duo of Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic – and the Spanish big man cannot help but create an image of the three of them playing together given the bond that the three had before they made their way to the NBA.

“Of course it will be a dream to play again with Luka and with Kristaps, who have been my companions,” said the 25-year old Hernangomez via reports from SportsFinding. “You never know what is going to happen and where you are going to be, but right now I am focused on trying to take advantage of the opportunities, on playing anywhere and being able to give the maximum of me.”

Willy, the older brother of Denver Nuggets forward Juancho Hernangomez, also said that he and Luka always play video games and talking on FaceTime. “It makes me very happy for how he is playing, for how he is dominating the league and that he is always there, giving us (the) courage to my brother and me because he knows they are difficult times, said the Spaniard center ahead of the first-ever NBA game that will be held in Paris, France when Charlotte will go up against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Willy had been playing limited minutes with the Hornets, averaging only 7.4 minutes in his 16 games with Charlotte while averaging 4.6 points, 2.8 rebounds in close to 60% shooting from the field. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers as 35th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft but was shipped to the New York Knicks and was named to the All-Rookie First Team at the season’s end. He teamed up with Porzingis during his stint with the Knickerbockers.
