There is some great news for New Year’s Eve party revelers as BART, TriMet and Broadway Shuttle run extended services on both trains and buses that will help the partygoers return home safely after the festivities.

BART Services

In a special arrangement, BART has announced that its train services will be extended till 3 a.m. local time on New Year with trains every 20 minutes.

Apparently, additional services will be run on lines to and from San Francisco to ease crowds at the Embarcadero and Montgomery Street Stations, where a large crowd is expected for fireworks show downtown, a BART release has stated.

Beginning 8 p.m. local time, BART will use a "skip-stop" system on trains into and out of San Francisco.

Reportedly, the trains on the Pittsburg/Bay Point and Richmond lines are not stopping at Embarcadero Station.

This makes Montgomery Street the closest San Francisco stop to the fireworks show for customers on the Pittsburg/Bay Point and Richmond lines.

Trains on Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont lines skip the Montgomery Street and stop at Embarcadero Station.

And trains from Millbrae and Daly City make all stops in San Francisco.

The agency has urged the passengers to buy round-trip tickets or use clipper cards with sufficient fare to avoid lines at ticket machines.

On New Year's Day, the BART plans to operate Sunday timetable with service beginning at 8 a.m.

TriMet Extends Bus, Train Service

TriMet provides free bus and MAX service beginning 8 p.m. local time and the agency is planning to extend MAX service on Blue, Green, and Yellow lines until 3 a.m. Trains are scheduled to run every 35 minutes.

The agency is planning to extend shuttle buses between Gateway Transit Center and Portland International Airport till 3:30 a.m. local time.

On New Year's Day, TriMet will facilitate buses and MAX trains to run on Sunday schedule as WES commuter rail will remain closed, the Oregonian has reported.

Broadway Shuttle, AC Transit Service

The Broadway Shuttle or the “Free B” is Oakland’s free bus service that runs along Broadway, from Jack London Square to 27th Street in Koreatown/ Northgate.

The shuttle is planning to extended service from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on New Year's Eve, while it will cease operations on New Year's Day.

Reportedly, the AC Transit local and transbay lines are operating on regular schedules Dec.31. On New Year Day, they operate on Sunday schedule, The Patch has reported.
