KEY POINTS

  • The Dallas Cowboys have revamped their roster over the offseason
  • One of their biggest moves involves upgrading their roster by drafting star prospect CeeDee Lamb
  • Head coach Mike McCarthy is expected to shine with his new lineup in the upcoming NFL campaign

The Dallas Cowboys are hailed to have one of the best offseasons in the NFL. The moves they’ve done have been propelled them into bouncing back higher in the coming season and places high expectations for head coach Mike McCarthy.

One of the key highlights of the year includes how the Cowboys were able to deepen their roster even further. They’ve coupled high-quality signings with notably one of the best performances in this year’s draft. This is evident in how they were able to get away with one of the most hyped players of this year’s class, CeeDee Lamb.

Per The Landry Hat, this gives McCarthy the tools to bring the franchise even further in the postseason. The Cowboys now have more players to improve their performance from last year. Their 2019 season had them in the middle of with an 8-8 record and was unable to qualify for the playoffs.

This year features new talent such as safety Ha’Sean Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, kicker Greg Zuerlein and defensive backs Daryl Worley and Maurice Canady. To top it all off, they were also able to sign Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton to a deal.

The presence of Dalton gives Dak Prescott a backup quarterback who can run the offense but understands his role to the team.

These new additions have altered the NFC East predictions and put the Cowboys in an improved final record.

Adding to this, Adam Schein of NFL.com sees the great potential of McCarthy winning coach of the year with the new Cowboys lineup.

“After years of Dallas being stuck in the middle with Jason Garrett, McCarthy is the perfect remedy for what ails this team. The Super Bowl-winning coach is a great offensive mind,” Schein said.

The Cowboys are forecasted to endure some losses but that shouldn’t be much of a burden for an experienced coach like McCarthy. Couple the winning coach with Prescott’s work ethic and the roster’s raw talent then the team is projected to have a major boost in the standings. Having players like Dalton gives an additional lift down the stretch of the season with his veteran experience.

“He will maximize the incredible weapons Dallas possesses on offense, with Zeke running behind a stout O-line and Dak Prescott throwing the ball to Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb,” Schein continued.

The season is looking to be an exciting one for the Cowboys as their revamped offense increases their chances this year. It’ll be interesting to see how their head coach McCarthy takes advantage of his roster.
