  • The Texans are willing to hang on to Watson if the Dolphins are unable to meet their demands
  • Watson will only waive his no-trade clause if he is dealt to the Miami Dolphins
  • The Dolphins are wary of the potential sanctions Watson may receive from the NFL

The Houston Texans seem to be ready to move if no team meets their demands for Deshaun Watson.

The Miami Dolphins' hesitancy in sealing the deal to acquire the three-time Pro Bowler is something that team owner Cal McNair is not prepared to wait for.

According to ESPN, Houston has no plans for settling for a deal below their set terms.

Hence, there is a possibility that Watson may have to wait until the offseason before he gets his wish to join another NFL team.

The Dolphins were reportedly his preferred destination and are only willing to waive his no-trade clause for them.

Although they are aware that they are in the lead for the services of the 26-year-old quarterback, it seems that the increased demands of the Texans have forced the Dolphins to backpedal, NBC Sports reported.

As mentioned in a previous post, this is not the only one that has gotten general manager Nick Caseiro thinking.

Aside from not wanting to budge for the compensation, there are the 22 civil complaints of alleged sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions that Miami is wary about.

Aside from that, the controversial quarterback is also facing 10 criminal complaints, two of which were filed by individuals who have not yet sued him.

However, Watson has not yet been officially charged with any crime.

Miami is expectedly factoring this in, aware that Watson is likely to be meted sanctions and miss some games if he is to join the Dolphins.

Like most teams, trading for someone that cannot be put to good use is the last thing that the Dolphins want.

The NFL admitted that the league cannot decide on potential disciplinary action against Watson until it can gather enough information.

Aside from Miami, other teams linked to Watson include the Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles.
