Projections for the 2020 NFL season have some of the teams that picked near the top of the draft improving significantly after poor 2019 campaigns. The latest betting odds suggest that the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers will have the biggest turnarounds.

After Cincinnati finished with a league-worst two victories, FanDuel Sportsbook has set the Bengals’ over/under win total at 5.5. Detroit’s over/under win total is 6.5 following its 3-12-1 record. The Los Angeles Chargers, who went 5-11 for a last-place finish in the AFC West, have an eight-win over/under.

Two of those teams have new starting quarterbacks. The other is set to get its signal caller back after he missed half of last season.

Cincinnati drafted Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow with the No.1 overall pick. The LSU star arguably had the greatest college football season of any quarterback in history with 5,671 passing yards, 60 passing touchdowns and six interceptions. Burrow led the Tigers to a 15-0 record and the national championship.

Los Angeles let Philip Rivers walk in free agency, replacing its starting quarterback of 14 years. Rivers finished third in the NFL with 20 interceptions last year. Tyrod Taylor is favored to be the Week 1 starter, though first-round draft pick Justin Herbert could compete for the job.

Matthew Stafford was having the best season of his career before a back injury sidelined him for eight games. Stafford posted a 106.0 passer rating with a 3-4-1 record. The Lions went 0-8 with David Blough and Jeff Driskel under center.

The San Francisco 49ers had the biggest turnaround last season, going from four wins in 2018 to an NFC-best 13-3 record in 2019. San Francisco won the NFC West and made it to the Super Bowl.
