KEY POINTS

  • Manchester United's roster has been reliable for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
  • One player that may fit well with the Red Devils is Red Bull Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai
  • Szoboszlai is a 19-year-old midfielder yielding promising potential

The roster of Manchester United lineup remains to be deep with several players stepping up for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. While the team has an already formidable lineup, the club is looking to further improve as they’ve gained interest in Red Bull Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai.

The past few seasons have featured Szoboszlai blossom as a reliable player for Salzburg with the way he moves on the field. With 61 overall appearances, he has scored already 17 times and has tallied 24 assists. The way he facilitates the offense has been a strong point for his club as he started in 18 of their games, playing primarily from the left midfield.

The 19-year-old has been a great asset to have for any squad to have with his overall career pass success percentage of 80.4% with 1.4 key passes per game. To add to this, he also averages two shots per game when he’s on the pitch.

Per Fansided’s Red Devil Armada, chasing a deal for Szoboszlai would be beneficial for the club given his current value. The three-time Austrian Champion is currently worth an estimated 22.5 million Euros in the market and would be a good choice for Solskjaer’s Red Devils. Having someone like Szoboszlai’s caliber amidst the difficult financial landscape the global pandemic has brought about would be beneficial for Manchester United in the long run.

It’s a crucial time for Manchester United given how well they ended their season in a tightly contested Premier League. Their final win came at the perfect time as it propelled them to third place with a record of 18 wins, 12 draws and eight losses. The team has been rejuvenated with the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood providing quality football on the pitch.

The competition remains tough for Solskjaer and the rest of the club but the improvement of the squad is continuous throughout the year. It will be interesting to see how Manchester United moves forward with their lineup and if they’re able to gather secure a deal for Szoboszlai.
