Promoting the fight game has changed dramatically over the years, and the Professional Fighters League has taken notice.

The PFL recently picked up an award for “Use of Instagram” handed out at the Cynopsis Sports Media Awards in August, which is the industry’s premier business awards that not only brings together the biggest names from across the sports ecosystem but honors and showcases the best work in the industry.

PFL’s submission, which featured the digital animation work of artists RayRod and KutKraft with incredible knockouts, bested those produced by theScore, WWE, Bleacher Report’s House of Highlights, and FOX Sports.

Why was the PFL selected over the UFC and other major mixed martial arts promotions? Easy, just look at the numbers.

In 2019, the PFL Network featured a plus-300 percent growth in year-over-year engagement on Instagram. But it wasn’t just Instagram where the most innovative and fastest-growing league in the world shined.

On Facebook in 2020, the PFL has featured a 2000% greater interaction rate between fight fans, fighters, and the promotion in general.

The PFL looked at social media engagement as a way to transcend itself into the top of the MMA world. By capturing the attention of the millennial audience, they are now within eye-sight of the over 450 million fans of the sport.

Along with boosting brand-recognition outside the cage, the PFL also takes advantage of the technology inside of it with SmartCage technology. SmartCage captures real-time fighter analytics and incorporates it into every broadcast in North America on ESPN Networks and around the globe on a variety of premium distributors.

PFL is also willing to take chances to bring fans closer than ever such as the use of the Ref Cam, which made them the first to utilize this unique feature in combat sports.

The future of the sport is as promising as ever, and the PFL will be offering up new forms of technology including biometrics, kick speed, and more.
