Fully decentralized RPG powered by the players, Nine Chronicles is all set to launch its profile picture (PFP) NFT project this week, which will give you entry into the world of D:CC, which stands for De:Centralized Cat.

As the story goes, since ancient times, various secret societies like the Knights Templar, Illuminati, and Freemasons, among many more, have dwelt among us worldwide. Along similar lines, D:CC is also one of the archaic and distinguished societies which worships the one and only Cosmic Cat God the Grrreat (CCGG).

Our vast universe is the black fur coat of the CCGG, and the Earth is his all-seeing blue eye, as per D:CC lore. And as the Cat wishes to show completeness and sublimity, the Cat has decentralized itself and sent its avatars across the universe. As such, owning a D:CC issued PFP means that the holder is accepted as a member of this great society with, of course, the blessing from the CAT.

A Decentralized Fantasy World

D:CC envisions a world where all creatures throughout the universe adore and venerate the Cat because they are a conglomeration of all the positive adjectives of the world. To achieve so, D:CC is working in various fields ranging from societal, economic, political, and technological fields.

D:CC is feline-fying the Norse mythology through Nine Chronicles to achieve such a grand plan. The Norse Mythology-based open-source blockchain MMORPG is the first game that D:CC is developing.

For this, D:CC is issuing PFP NFTs. But it isn't just a simple profile picture, but an invitation to your alter identity within the Nine Chronicles multiverse where they would be used as actual costumes.

Nine Chronicles is fully decentralized, infinitely moddable, and owned by the community. To build this massive decentralized fantasy world, Nine Chronicles has raised $2.6 million in funding from the likes of Binance, Animoca Brands, Aave founder Stani Kulechov and other industry experts.

The Singapore-based Planetarium Labs, which is creating the future of decentralized MMOs that live forever on networks powered by the players, is Nine Chronicles' publisher. Earlier this year, Animoca Brands also led a $32 million funding round for Planetarium Labs with other participants, including Samsung Next, WeMade, and tech giant Kakao's investment arm Krust Universe.

Exclusive Rewards to Holders

D:CC-issued PFP NFTs will grant players a unique appearance, and with that, the holders will immerse into the game to play, fight, craft, and have an earning experience.

Besides being used as avatars, the PFP NFT holders will enjoy numerous benefits as a member of D:CC. You will receive exclusive rewards, in-game items, and additional currencies only available to D:CC members. The members will also have the right to vote in future collaborations with more clandestine events on the way.

Nine Chronicles has also collaborated with the likes of The SandBox to offer its holders the ability to find mysterious events and rewards in the dungeons developed by its many multiverse partners.

The fun doesn't end here, as, besides the NFT launch, Nine Chronicles is also having an upcoming art collaboration with Delysium and Sipher.

Delysium is an AI-powered, player-owned MMO game that supports players in creating various personalized physical assets. Currently, in the accelerated development phase, Delysium has raised over $4 million, led by Alameda Research.

Sipher, meanwhile, is planning to release its Alpha version, which is a multiplayer looter shooter ARPG built on the Ethereum blockchain. Genesis Sipher NFTs are the first 10,000 Sipher NFTs of each character race, and its holders receive exclusive benefits, such as early access to pre-release stages of the game.

Much Greater than Just PFP NFT

The non-fungible token (NFT) world exploded into popularity over the past couple of years thanks to its ability to provide verifiable digital ownership. But profile picture NFTs aren't something new. In fact, some of the first NFTs ever made were PFPs.

Unlike the regular PFP projects, which are essentially productive digital artwork to be utilized as profile pictures on social media platforms, Nine Chronicles PFP NFT collection supports a utility in the broad Web3 gaming community.

It is through its decentralized game, the rich back story, superior art, exclusive rewards, currencies, and events in not just its own fantasy world but also other virtual worlds that make the Nine Chronicles PFP NFT project vastly different from the usual ones circulating in the market.

Guaranteed Mint

Each of the Nine Chronicles PFP NFTs comes with a different combination of hairstyle and color, facial expressions, eyes, ears, tail, and accessories, which makes some NFTs rarer than others.

Graphic designer Sangmi Seon is the talent behind the cute, imaginative, catty, and colorful art. She is known for her works 'My Little Farm,' 'Girl and Dessert,' 'Shooting Hero,' and leading NEXON Korea's 'Tales Weaver' character production and development.

Anyone who wants to be in the D:CC circle, show off their D:CC Membership with unique costumes, enjoy mysterious events & rewards, or wants to prove their bravery can submit a pledge. As for those who want to be in the "Guaranteed Allowlist," aka "Whitelist," you must join one of the Pionyan programs.

To be accepted in Pionyan (which is a combination of "Pioneer" and "Nyan") Program 1, which has 999 spots and lasts until August 31st, 2022, one needs to have reached character level 50+ in Nine Chronicles and must hold 1000 WNCG. This will offer you guaranteed PFP minting authority.

Those who don't have 1000 WNCG will be added to a raffle for a chance to be added to the "Allowlist." Those who don't make it to the Allowlist are automatically placed on the waitlist.

The Pionyan Program 2 will open widely to the public on August 24th, allowing all those interested in getting a Nine Chronicles NFT a chance to get on the "Allowlist."
