KEY POINTS

  • Ronda Rousey has floated the idea of having Asuka join her and Shayna Baszler
  • She has also casually touched on the idea of having Liv Morgan in the group
  • Asuka would be the ideal performer to pair up with Baszler and Rousey due to their styles

Ronda Rousey came out on top of Liv Morgan at the recently concluded Extreme Rules pay-per-view and is now looking towards building her own stable within WWE.

During her latest gaming stream, Rousey revealed the first member that she would like to recruit into her group.

"Me and Asuka would be great. Maybe that's something I could pitch at like because they do the draft before Survivor Series, that I could pitch them drafting Asuka," Rousey mentioned.

"But isn't she part of like, the Bianca faction now? It's Alexa [Bliss], and Asuka, and Bianca are like, a faction now. I don't think that they would let me steal her."

After pondering on the thought for a couple of moments, Rousey went ahead and brought up who she would draft on her team for a possible three-on-three matchup at Survivor Series.

"Who would be on my team besides Shayna (Baszler) to make it even, three versus three? Would we turn Liv (Morgan) evil? Would Nattie (Natalya) turn? I don't know if they're going to do a traditional Survivor Series this year with champion versus champion. I'm hearing it's all up in the air and no one really knows what's going on," she stated.

Seeing Morgan team up with the woman who beat her for the SmackDown Women's Championship would be a hard pill to swallow for the babyface's most ardent fans since it would mean that she has to turn heel first and make a storyline make sense would be a tricky challenge for WWE.

Morgan already hinted at her character changing after her loss at Extreme Rules, but most fans believe she is closer to becoming a member of Bray Wyatt's faction than turning heel and subsequently partnering with Rousey.

Asuka has currently been busy on Raw as a member of Bianca Belair and Alexa Bliss' group as they look to stop the current run of Damage Control–composed of Bayley and WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky.

Pro wrestling fans have always had a high opinion of Asuka due to her work outside of WWE and her initial domination in NXT where she went unbeaten for 914 days which was ended by Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34.

Despite not looking a day over 30, Asuka is already 41 and her mileage in the industry may already be getting to her, but she has proven to still be a dependable performer for WWE.

Putting Asuka together with Rousey would make sense since the Japanese star has a hard-hitting style based on striking which would complement Rousey and Shayna Basler's mixed martial arts backgrounds.

Though there is no indication yet as to whether WWE would be having a draft similar to past years under Triple H's direction, it is an intriguing prospect that the company could consider down the line.
