A packed house at Wembley Stadium saw Merseyside rivals face off in an FA Cup tie, Andy Carroll's goal with four minutes to play gave Liverpool a 2-1 win over Everton.

Miscomunication among Liverpool defenders gave Everton a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute. Daniel Agger and Jamie Carragher had trouble clearing the ball. After a deflection, the ball bounced right to the foot of Nikica Jelavic who found the back of the net.

Liverpool got back into the match thanks to a terrible error in the 62nd minute. Sylvain Distin attempted a backpass that was woefully short; Luis Suarez gathered the ball for the Reds and slotted home an equalizer.

Carroll's go ahead goal, with just four minutes left to play came from a header after a beautiful free kick from Craig Bellamy. It was especially sweet for Carroll, who missed an easy opportunity with his head in the 47th minute.

With the win, Liverpool advances to face either Chelsea or Tottenham in the final.
