Arsenal failed to take advantage of an under-manned Wolverhampton squad on Tuesday, as the Gunners settled for a 1-1 result at Emirates Stadium.

Wolves played with 10 men after the 75th minute following a red card issued to midfielder Nenad Milijas for a hard foul. Arsenal weren't able to capitalize on the advantage, though the Gunners kept steady pressure on the Wolves' defenders.

Arsenal got on the board early in the match. In the eight minute, midfielder Thomas Rosicky connected with Yossi Benayoun, who then found winger Gervinho just barely on-side. The Ivory Coast star used some clever dribbling moves to open up space to unleash a shot past goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

But Wolves would counter in the 38th minute. Following a deflection, the ball found its way to Steven Fletcher, and the Scottish forward delivered a header to even the match.

The home draw was a disappointing result for Arsene Wenger's squad under the circumstances. Arsenal were the more aggressive side as the Gunners took 27 shots, with 11 on goal, while Wolves only took six shots, with one on goal. Arsenal held possession for 73 percent of the match.

Arsenal remain in fifth place in the Premier League, as the club failed to overtake Chelsea, who drew with Fulham on Boxing Day. Wolves are in 16th place with the draw.
