Wall Street slides as oil prices fall
U.S. stocks stumbled on Friday as energy shares sank along with oil prices on worries about weak demand, overshadowing fresh reassuring economic data.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 62.68 points, or 0.75 percent, to end unofficially at 8,268.64. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 10.19 points, or 1.14 percent, to 882.88. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> lost 9.07 points, or 0.54 percent, to 1,680.14.
