The ratings report released Friday morning revealed AEW and NXT tied for the first time in their Wednesday night ratings battle.

ShowbuzzDaily reported AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT both pulled in 778,000 viewers for their Wednesday night episodes, both dropping from their Dec. 4 episodes. This marks the first time both shows have garnered the same ratings number since the shows began running head-to-head on Oct. 2.

Despite the drop, the story remained the same with the demographics with AEW winning the 18-49 audience and NXT taking older viewers. AEW had a 0.28 rating in the 18-49 demographic to NXT’s 0.24 in a closer racer for two straight weeks. However, the gap was a little larger in the over 50 demographic as NXT drew a 0.38 rating to AEW’s 0.29.

The biggest news coming out of AEW Dynamite was the announcement of AEW Revolution on Feb. 29. Revolution will join Double or Nothing, All Out, and Full Gear, serving as the fourth pay-per-view in AEW’s planned quarterly pay-per-view schedule. The show also featured Chris Jericho asking Jon Moxley to join the Inner Circle and a chaotic main event street fight that saw the Young Bucks beat Proud & Powerful to become number one contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

NXT continued on its path, beginning the build to Worlds Collide on Jan. 25 and NXT TakeOver: Portland on Feb. 16. The show opened with a fast-paced Cruiserweight Title match where Angel Garza dethroned the defending champion, Lio Rush. Fans got a small taste of what’s to come in Worlds Collide as NXT UK’s Travis Banks took on NXT’s Jaxson Ryker. In the main event, Finn Balor scored the win over Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa in a triple threat match to become No. 1 contender for Adam Cole’s NXT Championship.
