Shane McMahon and The Miz entered WWE Fastlane with the intention of reclaiming the WWE tag team titles they lost to The Usos at WWE Elimination Chamber. They failed to do so and now hell has broken loose between the former tag team champions.

After losing the tag team titles, Shane-O-Mac hardly seemed interested in trying to reclaim the titles. It was actually an apologetic A-Lister who admitted fault and wanted to make it up for the WWE minority owner. From that instance alone, there was something a bit off and fans could sense that both would eventually end up feuding. And all that happened at WWE Fastlane, WWE.com reported.

The Miz had the golden opportunity to win it for him and McMahon at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Unfortunately, his frog splash failed to hit its mark, allowing The Usos to retain the tag team belts.

The Miz drew an ovation for his efforts although Shane-O-Mac was not that happy. He eventually forced The Awesome One in a triangle and hence the seeds have been planted, setting the stage for Wrestlemania 35.

It was something that was already in the works even prior to WWE Fastlane, Forbes reported. Although they could have reclaimed the tag team titles, a breakup was imminent. The following weeks will build on this storyline, one expected to be filled with plenty of drama.

With no WWE title on the line, scriptwriters are likely to have a special kind of match instead. Special stipulations could be added as well. If one looks at the past, Shane McMahon and the Miz are no strangers in special matches like extreme rules, iron man or perhaps even street fight matches. From the looks of it, the clash could be any one of them.

Equally interesting is if the father of the Miz will be linked to the whole storyline. He was present at the Quicken Loans Arena and egged on his son to make a statement. He could be an added attraction to aid The Miz who will uncharacteristically take on a face role.

The Miz has often played out (perfectly) being a heel wrestler so being a fan-favorite is new territory. It could be a new challenge for the A-Lister as he tries to prove he can be a villain or babyface depending on that the WWE script calls for.
