The newest episode of Fox’s hit musical show “Glee” was dubbed “Britney 2.0” and featured some of the pop superstar’s biggest hits.

From the moment the episode began Thursday evening, viewers were logging onto Twitter to write how excited they were for the new show featuring Britney Spears songs.

An official Glee tweet about the episode -- "The music from "Britney 2.0" (tonight’s episode) is available NOW on iTunes! #glee "-- received hundreds of retweets.

But arguably the best part of the episode was when one of the students ran out into the hallway and beckoned for people to “leave Britney alone.”

For those who are not familiar with the phrase, it was made infamous by Chris Crocker. He was a Britney Spears fan who was trying to defend her when she was getting tarred and feathered in the media for shaving off all her hair. He pleaded into the camera, “Leave Britney alone!”

Some tweeters, or “tweoples” as Spears likes to call them, commented:

“Lol that guy totally just imitated that other guy on youtube that says ‘LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE’”

Another said, “Leave britney alone! Omg i laugh so hard”

“The guy crying and screaming "Leave Britney alone!" in the hallway kinda makes this episode worth it,” @JeskuhBS added.

“LMFAO ‘LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE’ oh Chris Crocker.. Thank you for making that famous.” @daniellemissale said.

“Omg Britney attacking the ‘paparazzi’ and trying to shave her head and leave Britney alone. LOLOLOLOL,” @Lesliee_Loves_U laughed about the episode.

Britney Spears, who has been active recently on Twitter due to her judging gig on the U.S. version of “The X Factor” has not commented on the episode.

But a Twitter imposter who goes by the name of “Britney Speans” made multiple tweets regarding the episode and the Chris Crocker phrase.
