Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) kicked off its holiday gift event, dubbed “12 Days of Gifts,” via an iOS app available on the App Store for all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running at iOS 7 and above.
On the first day of free digital goodies, Dec. 26, the “12 Days of Gifts” app featured four recordings, two songs and two videos from Justin Timberlake's performance at the iTunes Festival 2013 in London.
Included in the giveaway by Apple are “SexyBack (Live)” and “Take Back the Night (Live),” and music videos “True Blood (Live)” and “TKO (Live).”
This is the first year that Apple is including the U.S. in its “12 Days of Gifts” event. In previous years, the Apple giveaway event was available only to iTunes and iOS users in Europe, Canada and Japan.
The "12 Days of Gifts" giveaway features free iOS apps, games iTunes music, iBooks, television shows and more each day from Dec. 26 until Jan. 6.
Previous giveaways included singles from the Foo Fighters, episodes of the hit TV series “30 Rock,” the “Need For Speed: Shift” iOS game, ebooks, classic movies such as Charlie Chaplin’s “Modern Times,” and other iOS apps.
For iTunes users who don’t have an iOS device or are running a version older than iOS 7, there’s still hope. As long as you have iTunes, you can still purchase the gift of the day by navigating to the respective content page in the iTunes Store or App Store.
