Several weeks after Oprah bid farewell to The Oprah Winfrey Show the statistics from the finale are in.

According to a report by OK! Magazine, approximately 16.4 million people tuned in to watch the finale of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The finale aired on Wednesday May 25 and averaged 16.4 million viewers. This final episode will go down in the books as the most-watched episode of the daytime talk show in the past 18 years.

The only episode that beat that stat was the 1993 episode titled Why I Love Older Women. That episode aired on Feb. 15, 1993 and a total of 17.3 million viewers tuned in, according to Entertainment Weekly.

I've been asked many times during this farewell season, is ending the show bittersweet? Well, I saw all sweet, no bitter, Oprah had said during the final week. And here's why: Many of us have been together for 25 years. We have hooted and hollered together, had or 'AHA!' moments. We ugly cried together and we did our gratitude journals ... I thank you all for your support and your trust in me. I thank you for sharing this yellow brick road of blessings.
