While Jessica Simpson seemed to have the longest pregnancy in history, another singer may have the shortest. Adele sent shockwaves through her ample fan base when she announced her pregnancy via her website on June 29th. All the more surprising are rumors that the singer is already seven months along! Multiple outlets have picked up a story originating on the gossip site Heat World which claims that Adele and boyfriend Simon Knoecki will welcome a bundle of joy this September. According the site, she has stayed out of the limelight in order to keep her baby bump from the prying eyes of the media.

Adele has barely left the house in recent months, so she could keep this to herself for as long as possible, a source allegedly close to the singer reportedly told Heat World.

So just how much truth is there to this story? In an industry that turns an empire waist into a bun in the oven, how could Adele have concealed the fact that she was in a family way?

The story cites Adele's notable absence from the Billboard Music Awards and her loose black dress at the Ivor Novello Awards last month as proof. Though this doesn't seem like enough evidence to conclude that she's seven months pregnant, several outlets have scooped the story up and are reporting it. This includes the Daily News, Extra, and the Daily Mail. The Independent Online has even gone as far claiming Adele has secretly married Knoecki.

In late 2011, the Grammy winning songstress was forced to cancel her ten-city U.S. tour after she developed a hemorrhage on her vocal cord. It's possible that her time away from the stage allowed her to keep her pregnancy a secret. Furthermore, the Daily Mail claims that Adele was camera shy at the Ivor awards. It's not like Adele, who is known for her down-to-earth demeanor and approachability, to shun photographers.

On Monday MTV UK reported that the pregnancy will likely affect the release of her next album. If she really is just two months away from motherhood, it's fair to say that her third studio release will be put on hold.

I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together, Adele wrote on her blog last week. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon.
