Actors James D’Arcy and Enver Gjokaj have reportedly signed deals with ABC to return as regulars on Season 2 of “Agent Carter.” They will join star Hayley Atwell, who will reprise her role as Peggy.

According to EntertainmentWeekly, other actors expected to join the cast include Bridget Regan, Chad Michael Murray and Lyndsy Fonseca. The report notes that Marvel has declined to comment on the signings.

In Season 2, the story continues in Los Angeles. According to a plot description, Peggy will get her “most dangerous assignment yet.” She will be moving into a new home and make new friends. The description teases that there may be a new love interest for her as well.

As Peggy continues to fight the new threats that have emerged in a “new atomic age” after World War II, she will discover that the bright lights of Hollywood “mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.”

More details about the plot and some of the characters in “Agent Carter” Season 2 are expected at San Diego Comic-Con, July 9 to 12. Marvel previously announced that Atwell and D’Arcy will be present beginning at 10 a.m. July 11 to sign autographs and meet fans. They will be joined by executive producers Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Chris Dingess, Lois D’Esposito and Jeph Loeb.

In a previous interview, Atwell told CTV that Season 2 will have a “dark glamour to it.” She added that there would be a lot of shots of “rolling Hollywood hills and palm trees” in the next season, and she hopes her character gets to sit in a convertible wearing a headscarf and looking fabulous.

Atwell also said her character is now moving on from Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and that it was time to see some romance. “Agent Carter” Season 2 is expected to begin by January 2016.
