Peggy Carter hasn’t gotten rid of Howard Stark just yet. Actress Hayley Atwell revealed that Dominic Cooper will return as Iron Man’s father in “Marvel’s Agent Carter” Season 2. It seemed like Howard might not return after it was announced that the show would move across the country to Los Angeles, but Atwell assured viewers that fan favorite characters would stick around.

“Well, there will be, repetition of characters,” Atwell explained to Den of Geek. “So Jarvis and Howard will be there with us again. Yeah, we can’t have a show without those guys.”

James D’Arcy was already confirmed to return as Jarvis by Entertainment Weekly along with Enver Gjokaj as Daniel Souza. The website reported that Chad Michael Murray (Jack Thompson), Bridget Regan (Dottie Underwood) and Lyndsy Fonseca (Angie Martinelli) were in talks to come back as well. Cooper hadn’t been mentioned, and many fans may have assumed it was due to other commitments. The actor is currently filming a new series.

Cooper will play the lead in AMC’s “Preacher,” an adaptation of a comic book by the same name, as previously reported. He acquires supernatural powers and discovers that God has abandoned Heaven. He goes to find God with the help of his ex-girlfriend Tulip, played by Ruth Negga (who is familiar to “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” fans as Raina).

It’s possible that Cooper could balance the roles. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” Season 2 will have a 10-episode season, and he could be just a guest star. Provided he doesn’t have a huge role, he just might be able to do both.

While Atwell is a pretty reliable source, Marvel still hasn’t made any announcements about Cooper signing a contract for “Agent Carter” Season 2, so it’s still possible that he won’t appear. Fans might hear an official announcement at San Diego Comic-Con. Members of the “Agent Carter” cast will appear at the “Marvel Television Presents” panel on Friday at 3 p.m. PDT in Ballroom 20.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” Season 2 will return to ABC in 2016. Do you want Howard Stark to return or do you think Peggy should find new friends in Los Angeles? Sound off in the comments section below!
