Agent Carter
The "Dancing With the Stars" pros put on their period clothing to dance with Peggy (Hayley Atwell, pictured) on "Marvel's Agent Carter" Season 2, episode 9. ABC

It’s the weirdest ABC crossover that fans didn’t even know they wanted. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” Season 2 will welcome pros from “Dancing with the Stars” in the second of Tuesday’s back-to-back episodes. Don’t worry, the dancers aren’t a huge focus in the episode. They’re around for one sequence that’s already available for fans to watch.

The sneak peek video shows Peggy (Hayley Atwell) asking Sousa (Enver Gjokaj), “What in the bloody blue blazes is happening?” In response, Sousa starts singing about love. The two dance together and almost share a kiss before Angie (Lyndsy Fonseca) pulls her away.

Peggy’s friend from New York is still in her waitress uniform as she sings about Peggy having to make a choice. Clearly, the agent’s love triangle with Sousa and Wilkes (Reggie Austin) is weighing on her mind. However, Jarvis (James D’Arcy) interrupts to tell her to wake up. It’s all just a dream.

“Dancing With the Stars” fans will recognize Dmitry Chaplin, Damian Whitewood, Sasha Farber, Anna Trebunskaya and Karina Smirnoff showing off their fancy footwork in the scene. Louis van Amstel appears as well, and he choreographed the number.

Though a song and dance scene isn’t typical for “Agent Carter,” it is reflective of the drama’s lighter tone in Season 2.

“I don't know what I can really say about it, other than that it's an example of the showrunners taking the show in a very different direction and being not afraid to take risks and find another way to have a lot of fun with it. It's a genre show,” Atwell told ComicBook.com last month. “We know what the genre is. We know what the audience is, and I think one of the saving graces of the show is that we don't take ourselves too seriously and we're willing to play around with it.”

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” Season 2, episode 9 airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST on ABC, following episode 8 which airs at 9 p.m. EST.
