Bailed-out insurer American International Group Inc (AIG) has named former Prudential Plc chief executive Mark Tucker as head of its Asian life insurance business, American International Assurance (AIA), replacing existing head Mark Wilson.

AIG said in a statement on Monday that it would also seek to list AIA shares on the Hong Kong stock exchange.

The sudden ouster of Wilson comes less than a week after AIG Chairman Harvey Golub resigned over a disagreement with AIG Chief Executive Officer Robert Benmosche.
