“Mad Men” co-stars Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser announced their engagement on Wednesday.

A rep for Bledel, the former star of “Gilmore Girls,” confirmed to AccessHollywood.com that Kartheiser, her boyfriend of one year, had popped the question.

The photogenic couple met on the set of AMC’s critically acclaimed period drama “Mad Men,” where Kartheiser has starred as advertising executive Pete Campbell since 2007. During the show’s fifth season, Bledel had a three-episode arc portraying Beth Dawes, a mentally unbalanced housewife. Their characters fell in love on the show, too.

"Vincent proposed a few weeks ago. She's been wearing her ring. It's huge!,” a source told Us Weekly.

Let’s hope that the couple’s real-life relationship ends better than the affair between their “Mad Men” characters, which came to a tragic close after Bledel’s character got a lobotomy.

The impending nuptials will be the first marriage for both parties. Bledel had previously dated “Gilmore Girls” co-star Milo Ventimiglia for more than three years, while Kartheiser has been linked to actress Rachel Leigh Cook.

Bledel’s engagement isn’t the only good news she’s gotten lately. According to Access Hollywood, she’s slated to star in “Friends and Family,” a new sitcom pilot for Fox.

Meanwhile, Kartheiser will continue to portray Pete Campbell on AMC. "Mad Men’s" highly anticipated season 6 is to begin April 7.
