Workers digging to expand a graveyard in Croatia were shocked to find not human remains, but remains that are rumored to have belonged to an extraterrestrial being.

Ivan Stefic, a nearby Mayor of the northern region of Medjimurje where the discovery occurred, told the Croatian newspaper 24 Sata (translated via UK’S Orange) that workers were terrified after locating the alleged alien head which was reportedly located roughly three feet below ground. "I know it sounds crazy but we can't think of any more rational explanation for what we've found,” Stefic said.

The head, along with a second section of the rumored alien remains which is being described as heart-like, is currently being kept safe at their town hall while awaiting an examination from scientists. The Mirror reported that Stefic described the suspected remains as being made out of a soft rubber-like substance and the head sporting a “bead-like-mouth.”

“It scared the life out of me to see that thing staring up out of the ground," one worker said according to UK’s Orange, another stating that the strangest attribute regarding the find was its distinct odor. "The really strange thing, though, was the smell. Most things that come out of the ground don't smell too good but this smelled very sweet, like aftershave or perfume.”

The last discovery rumored to be of alien-descent was a 6-inch-long skeleton, nicknamed “Ata,” that was located in Chile’s Atacama Desert in 2003. Conspiracy theorists claimed the find was alien due to its elongated skull, but Stanford University scientists claimed the remains had human DNA following extensive testing.
