Nick Cordero's wife, Amanda Kloots, has helped finish one of the projects her late husband had been working on before he passed away on July 5 from coronavirus complications.

Kloots, a fitness instructor, revealed on Instagram on Wednesday that she teamed up with composer Rickey Minor to work on a musical track that Cordero started before he was hospitalized in March.

The song, called "Not Far Away," is about Cordero losing and missing his father. The late Broadway star was able to write only one verse and chorus.

"Our friend Maddox had the idea for me to write the second verse and then sing a duet with Nick. Rickey and @lennywee helped me, added our voices together, mixed and arranged it, then added beautiful strings and chimes to create this new duet," Kloots said.

"This was one special night... I got to sing with Nick!" she continued. "It was hard living up to my husbands vocals but I closed my eyes and pretended we were onstage singing this song together. I cried a lot, but Rickey guided me through it every step of the way."

In her Instagram Stories, Kloots said it was "therapeutic" to work on the project as she felt close to her late husband once more.

Kloots has been open about the difficulties of trying to move on with life following Cordero’s death. On Sunday, she took to Instagram to share a photo she found on Cordero's phone after his death that shows her sound asleep behind her husband.

"I found this on Nicks phone," she captioned her post. "I don’t remember him taking this picture but know exactly where we are here. I really miss sleeping next to him, cuddling into his shoulder and having someone to hold."

Cordero was hospitalized for more than three months before he passed away in July. Since contracting the virus in March, Cordero’s health had gone downhill, with doctors being forced to amputate his right leg due to blood clots. The actor also underwent stem cell treatment to strengthen his lungs and suffered two mini strokes during his hospital stay.

The actor had repeatedly tested negative for COVID-19 before he succumbed to complications from the virus.

On Sept. 6, friends and family of the Tony Award-nominated actor will be holding a memorial to honor his life.

Cordero's castmates from "A Bronx Tale," "Bullets Over Broadway," "The Toxic Avenger," "Rock of Ages" and "Waitress" will be among the participants in the memorial tribute that will stream on Broadway on Demand.
