Police in Midland, Texas, issued an Amber Alert on Tuesday for an 11-month-old baby who was allegedly abducted by a 29-year-old man.

The Midland Police Department identified the kidnapper as Zach Jack Smith, who is said to be a white male standing 5′6″, weighing 167 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and wearing unknown clothing.

The victim has been identified as Darla Steve, who is described as a white female with black hair and brown eyes.

Police believe Smith is driving a Gray 2022 Dodge Ram 3500 with the Texas license plate number SDD9453. Authorities said the child may be in grave or immediate danger.

It is not known if Smith knew the victim. It also remains unclear from where the child had been abducted.

AMBER is an abbreviation that stands for America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response. It was inspired by Amber Rene Hagerman, a teenager who was kidnapped and ultimately found killed in 1996.
