Amber Rose Says Relationship With 21 Savage Has ‘Negative’ Effects

Although Amber Rose and 21 Savage have only been dating for a short amount of time, the couple’s relationship has received plenty of criticism that the Instagram model doesn’t believe is fair.

On Thursday, Rose appeared on the Loveline podcast where she discussed her new romance and how it has quickly affected her life in a negative way.

Although she enjoys her relationship with the rapper, Rose revealed that her romance has brought her some trouble. When asked about rumors she’s dating the “Issa” performer as a publicity stunt, the Instagram model insisted that she has her claim to fame.

“I am always on the Internet. I don’t need an extra person to give me publicity. If anything, [21 Savage is] giving me negative publicity that I really don’t need,” she stated.

Rose was the talk of the internet not too long ago when she shared a bottomless nude photo of herself, which was eventually removed from Instagram. “I go far and beyond to piss people off on purpose,” she told Refinery29.

“That’s what I do to bring awareness to Slutwalk and what’s going on. The fact that there are double standards, that women are not allowed to own their sexuality and their bodies. We can’t possibly be sexually confident because then we’re whores. We’re not allowed to have a past. We’re incapable of love if we’re too beautiful or if we’re too successful,” she stated.

Rose said that since she has begun dating the rapper, she has received backlash from fans. The star explained that she has been called out since pictures surfaced of the couple spending time with her son Sebastian, who she shares with Wiz Khalifa. “‘How do you have another man around your child?’” she said one fan wrote to her.

The star explained that she introduces men to her son early on to make sure he feels comfortable around her new guy. “I don’t want to be with a guy for three, six months, two years, and then introduce my kid and my kid’s like, ‘I don’t like him,’” she stated on the podcast.

“It’s not like I’m dating someone new and I’m like, ‘Bash, this is mommy’s new boyfriend, call him daddy now.’ You know what I mean? I don’t hug or kiss or do anything intimate in front of my son,” she added.

Rose also noted that there is a double standard about how the public perceives a woman moving on from a relationship versus a man. The star revealed that no one seemed bothered when her ex-husband allowed Sebastian to accompany him on dates with his new girlfriend Izabela Guedes.

“There was actually a picture on the Internet where my son was sitting on her lap on a swing and they all had a family day together,” the VH1 host stated. However, the rapper didn’t receive any backlash over his actions.

Despite some of the negativity that her new relationship has caused, Rose has insisted that she is happy with her new boyfriend. “He’s super sweet and amazing, he’s really cool...we relate on so many levels,” she said.

Although she is not thrilled about the opinions people have about her romance, it doesn’t seem like Rose is in a rush to slow down her relationship with 21 Savage.
