“American Horror Story” actor Dalton Gray is lucky to be alive. The 17-year-old played Mike, one of Twisty the Clown’s victims in Season 4, “Freak Show.” On Saturday he was severely injured after an alleged drink driver struck the vehicle he was in.

TMZ reports that the actor was a passenger in a friend’s car in Katy, Texas, over the weekend when the accident occurred. The vehicle was T-boned, causing Gray to suffer from a shattered hip/pelvis and shattered femur. Gray also reportedly had to have the right side of his face reconstructed and glass removed from his eye. According to TMZ, although the trauma to his eye was serious, his vision is expected to recover.

Gray is keeping fans updated on Twitter and appears to be in good spirits. In a video he posted Thursday, he joke that a lion in Africa clawed his face while he was trying to save villagers from “possessed baboons.” Check out his updates below, including some [WARNING] graphic photos of his injury:
