“American Horror Story”
What will happen when Shelby (Lily Rabe) confronts Matt (André Holland) back at the farmhouse in Season 6, episode 7 of FX’s “American Horror Story?” Tune in Wednesday to find out. FX

“American Horror Story” unveiled a serious twist in Season 6, episode 6 and creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk and their tremendous team of writers aren’t done jerking viewers around just yet. More aspects of the twist — and who the lone survivor on the fictional reality show “Return to Roanoke” — will be revealed in the episodes to come.

A preview for episode 7 suggests that there’s an additional evil force in Matt (André Holland) and Shelby’s (Lily Rabe) former farmhouse. The clip opens with Dominic (Cuba Gooding Jr.) sitting in the confessional, discussing the benefits of being “the bad guy.” It remains unclear what that means for his fate — will he be killed off or will his tricks help him be the lone survivor among the cast?

Additionally, it seems it will finally set in that the spirits haunting Matt and Shelby were very much real, despite Sidney’s (Cheyenne Jackson) non-belief. In one scene Lee (Adina Porter) can be seen either in pursuit of something or running away through the thick, dark wooded area surrounding the farmhouse. She tells Monet (Angela Bassett) that she wasn’t kidding when she said the house and the land it’s built on is haunted, warning her that there is a very real threat around them and it’s only going to get worse. The pair are shown running through the underground tunnels, built by Edward Phillippe Mott (Evan Williams), but will they make it out alive?

Amid the chaos Shelby and Matt will find a moment to talk, recounting the positives of their marriage. The pair have a complicated and contentious relationship, which will likely be exsasserbated by the addition of Dominic to the farmhouse. Still it seems there's some hope for Matt and Shelby in what may be their final few days among the living.

Episode 6 will be hard to top. During the show, which aired on Wednesday, a number of shocking twists were revealed as the show turned from reenactment to reality. Viewers were introduced to Sidney, the diabolical producer of a new series called “Return to Roanoke.” In it, he asks that Matt, Shelby, Lee and the actors who portrayed them in the first half of Season 6 return to the haunted farm house during a blood moon. They are to stay there, documenting any and all dramatic encounters with each other and the paranormal. The experience is made that much more awkward by the changed relationships of the cast — Shelby and Matt have split, Lee isn’t ready to forgive her sister-in-law, Audrey — who played Shelbey — is married to Edward Phillippe Mott actor Rory, Shelby and Dominic had a one-night fling and Monet is a functioning alcoholic. To make matters worse Agnes Mary Winstead (Kathy Bates), who played The Butcher, is grappling with a serious mental illness, is incredibly jealous of Audrey and has been asked to stay away from the “Return to Roanoke” set.

Early in the episode a text screen shows, announcing that all but one of Sidney’s participants were killed during production. The reality show was never released and instead viewers are seeing previously unseen footage from the paranormal carnage that took place during their stay. With several characters still among the missing — including Finn Wittrock and Taissa Farmiga’s mysterious roles — it’s anyone's guess where the show will go next.

Tune in to FX next Wednesday for more “American Horror Story” Season 6 and be sure to check out the episode 7 preview above.
