Jessica Sanchez delivered a flawless rendition of Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You and Beyonce's Sweet Dreams this season on American Idol, but it didn't save her from ending up in the bottom three on last night's show.

Sanchez has been considered a front runner and some have said that she could win the singing competition, but last night she was in danger of going home.

This is a ridiculous bottom three, Randy Jackson said. So wrong!

This girl is one of the best singers in America ever, he continued.

As Sanchez took to the stage to sing her save song judge Jennifer Lopez stormed the stage to tell Sanchez she was already safe.

Give me that mic! Lopez said as she took the microphone from Sanchez. This is crazy! Yes we are using that save! This is crazy! Go sit down. You don't have to go home, baby.

We are saving Jessica, without any doubt! Jackson said.

Sanchez was grateful and surprised by the reaction of the judges.

I don't expect anything, Sanchez told Seacrest when asked if she saw the elimination coming.Whatever happens, happens.

Sanchez was included in the bottom three with Joshua Ledet and Elise Testone.

“[I've] never seen this happen, this is a ridiculous,” Jackson said. “They got it so wrong tonight.

There have been shockers in past shows. In 2004, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia Barrino ended up in the bottom three and Hudson was voted off. Barrino went on to win American Idol that year and Hudson later won an Oscar for best supporting role in Dreamgirls. She has went on to star in several other films and has released an album.
