‘America’s Got Talent’
Mandy Harvey, 29, will automatically advance to the live shows in “America’s Got Talent” Season 12. NBC

America’s Got Talent” Season 12 just named its second golden buzzer recipient on Tuesday night!

Judge Simon Cowell gave 29-year-old deaf singer Mandy Harvey the opportunity to go straight to the live shows after he was impressed by her singing abilities. Harvey performed her original song, “Try,” which is about the struggles she faced for the past 10 years of her life and how she managed to overcome them.

Prior to her performance, Harvey told the judges that she completely lost her hearing at the age of 18 due to an illness. Since then, she figured out a way to continue singing since it’s something that she’s done since she was 4 years old. Harvey, who removed her shoes onstage, told Howie Mandel that she “hears” the beat and tempo of the song through the vibration on the floor.

When Harvey opened her mouth, everyone couldn’t help but be shocked at how in tune she was. It is no surprise that Cowell did not waste any time before he hit the golden buzzer. Harvey rejoiced at the fact that she’s making her dreams come true despite her condition. Her dad also joined her onstage and shook Cowell’s hand.

Meanwhile, another talented singer wowed the judges and audiences on Tuesday night’s episode of the hit NBC reality TV show. Nine-year-old Angelica Hale seemed like a timid young girl when she went up on stage. Waiting in the sidelines were her parents, who looked very nervous.

During her interview with the judges, Hale told them that she wants to become the next Whitney Houston. Some of the audiences looked confused because Houston was known as a singing powerhouse. But when Hale opened her mouth, her tone also impressed everyone. She sang Andra Day’s hit song, “Rise Up,” and received a standing ovation from everyone.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12, episode 2 also featured a torture act by the Azeri Brothers, a Chemistry-inspired routine by Nick Uhas, a dance number by the Diavolo group and an original song performed by Chase Goehring.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
