Angelina Jolie’s dad, Jon Voight, recently opened up about his daughter’s ongoing divorce from Brad Pitt. While speaking with US Weekly, Voight, 78, said that he hopes Jolie and Pitt’s issues can be resolved for the sake of their children. Despite their decision to end their marriage, Voight said that he continues to root for the estranged couple.

“It’s a difficult time, and I don’t want to talk about it, but of course, I’m thankful for everybody’s good wishes and prayers. And I hope things work out… I’m rooting for them. I don’t want this thing to dissolve. I’m rooting for the kids. My heart is with everybody, and my daughter, certainly, and the children,” he said.

Meanwhile, the most recent update regarding Jolie and Pitt’s divorce has to do with their agreement to keep their divorce out of the public eye. The couple’s representative released their joint statement to the publication, saying that the agreement was reached due to their desire to protect their six children.

“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues,” the statement read.

Amid their divorce, Jolie and Pitt are living separate lives. The actor was first spotted in public in four months at the 2017 Golden Globes where he introduced “Moonlight.” Over the weekend, he attended a private charity benefit with Sting in Malibu. While there, he introduced Chris Cornell and not the main event itself, according to Vanity Fair. Jolie, on the other hand, was spotted getting ice cream with her children earlier this month.
