Anna Paquin is pregnant with her first child with True Blood co-star (and real life husband) Stephen Moyer.
The pregnancy was confirmed by the couple's reps on Tuesday night, Entertainment Weekly reports.
While the baby will be the first for Paquin, 29, the Canadian actress is already stepmother to Moyer's two kids from a previous relationship.
The 42-year-old Moyer, who plays the vampire Bill Compton on True Blood, began dating Paquin shortly after meeting on set some five years ago. The two announced their engagement in 2009, and were married the following year at a private residence in Malibu, Calif.
Clearly there was a reason we were cast in that particular combination but . . . it's not like either of us were looking for love or anything trite like that. It wasn't something we saw happening, Paquin said of her relationship with Moyer in a 2010 interview with Marie Claire.
We're pretty mundane. We walk our dogs, rehearse lines. But our shared passion for our jobs is a really exciting thing. It's part of the reason we ended up together, she added.
Before taking on the role of Sookie Stackhouse, Paquin starred in a number of major films, including A Walk on the Moon, Almost Famous, The Squid and the Whale and three X-Men pictures. But perhaps her most famous feat to date is 1993 film The Piano, opposite Holly Hunter, Harvey Keitel and Sam Neill.
At the 66th Academy Awards, Paquin became the second youngest person to take home Oscar (for Supporting Actress), at the tender age of 11. (Tatum O'Neal holds the record, when she won the same award in 1974 for Paper Moon. She was 10 years old).
Moyer, a product of Essex, England, has an extensive theater background, thanks to stints with the National Theater of Wales, the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Oxford Stage Company. His film resume includes the 1997 sword and sorcery film Prince Valiant (opposite a very young Katherine Heigl), the 2007 Al Pacino thriller 88 Minutes and the upcoming horror film The Barrens, which is slated for release later this year.
Paquin is due in the fall, EW reports.
The fifth season of True Blood premieres on HBO on June 10.
