The Apple iPhone 6s and the LG Nexus 5 (2015) are the most awaited smartphones of 2015. The iPhone 6s is currently available for preorders and shipping starts from Sept. 25. Its major rival, the LG Nexus 5 (2015) is heavily speculated to be unveiled on Sept. 29 with a cheaper price tag.

The LG Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to be available in the market with the LG Nexus 5X moniker. Since last year’s Google Nexus 6 was criticized for its expensive price tag, the LG Nexus 5X will not only be a cheaper smartphone but will also come with impressive specs. Here is a comparison of the specs, features and price of the purported LG Nexus 5X with that of the iPhone 6s:

Design And Display

According to popular leakster @OnLeaks, the LG Nexus 5X will measure 146.9 x 72.9 x 8/9.8 mm. It will be available in color options like blue (or mint), white and black and will resemble the well-acclaimed LG Nexus 5 from 2013.

On its front panel, it will house dual stereo speakers. Speculations are rife that it will sport a polycarbonate construction with a metallic frame. The rear panel houses a fingerprint sensor.

The iPhone 6s is a smaller and thinner device than the purported LG Nexus 5 as it measures 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor is embedded in the Home button. It sports a metallic chassis and comes in color variants like space gray, silver, gold and rose gold.

The Apple iPhone 6s is flanked by a 4.7-inch display that offers a resolution of 1334 x 750 with a pixel count of 326 ppi. The 3D Touch display feature lets the screen distinguish between harder and lighter touch pressures. On the other hand, the LG Nexus 5 (2015) will come with a bigger display of 5.2 inches that will support full HD resolution. It will deliver a pixel density of 424 ppi, Phone Arena reported.

Chipset, RAM And Storage

According to the information found through China’s regulatory body, TENNA, the iPhone 6s features 1.8 GHz dual-core processor inside the new A9 chipset, Mobi Picker reported. It is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. It does not feature a microSD slot, but comes in storage options like 16 GB, 64GB and 128 GB.

The LG Nexus 5X will be powered by the Snapdragon 808 chipset that features a hexa-core processor gunning at 1.8 GHz along with 3 GB of RAM. Like predecessor Nexus smartphones, the LG Nexus 5X will not be featuring a microSD slot. However, it will be available in storage options such as 32 GB and 64 GB.

Camera, Software And Connectivity

The Apple iPhone 6s is blessed with a topnotch 12-megapixel camera. It comes with features like 4K resolution video recording and dual-LED flash. The display of the handset brightens up threefold and functions as a flash for the frontal camera of 5 MP.

The LG Nexus 5X will come with a rear shooter of 12.7-megapixel along with dual-LED flash and infrared autofocus. Speculations indicate that it will also feature optical image stabilization. The front-facing camera of the device will be of 5 MP.

The iOS 9 has been introduced on the newly launched Apple iPhone 6s. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be debuted on Sept. 29 as it will come preinstalled on the LG Nexus 5 (2015). Like the Apple Pay mobile payment service that is available on iOS 9, the Android Pay will also debut on Android 6.0 for making secure payments through the fingerprint sensor.

The Apple iPhone 6s is enabled with a new Cat. 6 LTE modem that delivers a faster download speed of 300 Mbps and upload speed of 50 Mbps. The LG Nexus 5 (2015) will be also equipped with the Cat. 6 LTE modem and deliver the same download and upload speeds. Other connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, aGPS and GLONASS are also available on both the smartphones.

Battery, Price And Availability

Both the handsets feature non-removable batteries. The Apple iPhone 6s features a battery of 1,715 mAh whereas the LG Nexus 5 (2015) is rumored to house a massive non-removable battery of 2,700 mAh capacity. The Nexus handset will also carry support for wireless charging, a feature that is unavailable on the iPhone 6s.

The iPhone 6s was announced alongside the larger iPhone 6s Plus on Sept. 9 and its preorders began Sept. 12. It will start shipping for customers who have preordered it from Sept. 25. The off-contract pricing of the iPhone 6s is $649 for 16 GB model, $749 for 64 GB model and $849 for 128 GB model.

On the other side, rumors suggest that the LG Nexus 5X will be much cheaper than the iPhone 6s as its 32 GB and 64 GB models are expected to carry price tags of $299 and $449. It is slated to get officially announced on Sept. 29 and should be available for purchase from Oct. 13.
