Apple shares rose on Friday to recover some of the market value it had lost during a multi-day sell-off in technology stocks.

Apple shares traded rose $2.09, or 1.27 percent to close at $166.39. It was still less than the firm's 52 week high of $191.79 it reached last Tuesday before losing 20% of their value in the next four trading sessions.

Technology stocks have suffered during the last week, with firms including Google, VMware and Research in Motion suffering sharp declines in market value.
