Several retailers in the U.S. are offering the Apple Watch with a discount of $100. The 38mm Apple Watch Sport is now selling with retailers for $249 whereas the 42mm is now available for $299.

Apple is not offering any discounts on Apple Watch and the $100 discount is only available with third party retailers. The $100 price cut can be availed at Best Buy and B&H.

On March 18, Apple is expected to unleash the iPad Air 3 and the 4-inch iPhone 5se, 9 to 5 Mac reported. The rumor mill is unable to confirm whether the Cupertino company will announce a second generation Apple Watch or introduce new bands for the first generation model. A new software update is also expected to be announced for the existing smartwatch.

Since retailers announced price cut on the Apple Watch, speculations are rife that the Cupertino company may announce the Apple Watch 2. Usually, retailers tend to introduce discounts on existing products before the release of a successor model. In the past year, the price of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus smartphones were lowered before the launch of the successor models, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus smartphones.

In the previous month, the same publication had reported that Quanta would be starting the trial production of the second generation Apple Watch in January. It had further stated the Apple Watch 2 would debut by March or April.

Rumors hint that the Apple Watch 2 would arrive with a FaceTime camera feature that would enable users to make video calls. The upcoming smartwatch is also expected to arrive with newer health sensors for providing users with additional health-centric features. As far as the design of the smartwatch is concerned, it is expected to be slimmer than the original model.
