Could it be that Bristol Palin and ex-fiance Dakota Meyer have worked things out? The pair split in May 2015, making the announcement just days after what should have been their wedding day — but could their relationship be back on?

Meyer shared a photo of himself and Palin, 25, on Instagram on Tuesday. The pair can be seen smiling as the mother of two wraps her hand around Meyer’s arm. While the main focus of the photo is their smiling faces, a closer look reveals something major — Palin appears to be wearing her engagement ring again. Meyer’s caption discusses fate and the idea that one should “never give up,” further suggesting that they may be back together.

While Palin, daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and Meyer have been broken up for some time, they have remained on good terms. In March, Palin posted a photo of her then-ex “wearing” their daughter, Sailor Grace. She wrote that the selfie, which Meyer snapped using a full-length mirror, was “too cute.” The picture, which has since been deleted, was the first of Meyer with Sailor following news that he and Palin had reached a visitation agreement.

Palin was open about her baby daddy drama, most of which involved son Tripp Palin’s father, Levi Johnston. On Feb. 24, she took to social media to discuss her concerns, writing that her kids were her “world.” She went on to say she would never give up on “doing what is best for them,” adding that it was her hope both of her kids would have a “positive” relationship with their fathers.

Although Palin and Meyer were not battling in court over custody, they did have issues. On March 2, texts between the two were leaked to the public. The conversation showed Palin pleading with Meyer to spend more time with Sailor, who was born Dec. 23, 2015. Meyer claimed he couldn’t due to continuing legal problems, which he did not elaborate on. In time they are said to have worked through those issues.
