“Arrow” character Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) will have a deeply personal reaction to the recent Season 4 death. According to the producers, she’ll make a big life decision in episode 19. The CW

“Arrow” fans worldwide are still reeling from the massive gut punch that was Season 4, episode 18. With a key member of the team down for the count, everyone is wondering how the characters remaining will react.

[SPOILER ALERT: The remainder of this article will discuss “Arrow” Season 4, episode 18]

As previously reported, the team will be shaken to its core following the tragic, untimely and somewhat mysterious death of Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) will blame themselves for failing to keep the Black Canary safe, while Thea (Willa Holland) will need to deal with the fact that her father, Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), is directly responsible for setting loose the man who killed Laurel. CinemaBlend even reports that Captain Lance (Paul Blackthorne) may be in danger of falling off the wagon after his daughter’s death. But that leaves one member of Team Arrow without an immediately obvious reaction to her friend’s passing.

Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) has been going through an emotional journey in Season 4, having started as Oliver’s girlfriend, then becoming his fiancée before his lies forced her to break up with him and turn her back on Team Arrow. Now, in the wake of the tragic death, executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells TV Line that either her choice to leave Oliver or her choice to leave Team Arrow will be undone in episode 19, “Canary Cry.”

“One does not mean the other is going to happen,” showrunner Wendy Mericle told the outlet. “She could come back to the team, and that does not mean that she’s back together with Oliver.”

If Felicity chooses to rekindle her romantic relationship with the Green Arrow, fans know that it will have to happen after Laurel’s funeral, which teaser photos indicate will happen in episode 19. The reason for this is simply that viewers were already told she wouldn’t be wearing her engagement ring while she drives away from the grave with Oliver. That was shown in the flash-forward sequence that was teased during the midseason premiere of Season 4, after it looked like Felicity might have been the one to die.

Luckily for “Olicity” shippers, the character is alive and well. Given the fact that the flash-forward saw her encourage Oliver to finally stop, presumably, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the smart money is on the vengeful hacker genius rejoining the team to avenge the Black Canary. But, fans will simply have to wait until “Arrow” premieres Season 4, episode 19, on April 27 to find out what Felicity will choose.
