Arsenal may feel they have a fresh start to their season after the transfer deadline produced some new faces when they host Swansea City at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

After the 8-2 drumming the Gunners took by rivals Manchester United, Arsenal were in need of reinforcements. They added midfielders Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun, along with centre back Per Mertesacker, full-back Andre Santos and forward Chu Young Park.

While Arsenal have brought some new players they continue to be under-manned due to injuries, suspensions, and other factors. So far this season, Arsenal have used 23 players, which is more than any other club. Players out with injury include centre back Thomas Vermaelen, Jack Wilshere, and Abou Diaby, while Santos is unfit for the match. Tomas Rosicky is doubtful with a knee injury.

Park could be unavailable as he waits for international clearance in Paris. Meanwhile, Carl Jenkinson, Gervinho, and Alex Song are suspended for the match.

Arsene Wenger will have Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs, and Emmanuel Frimpong available for a match that the manager hopes will yield their first victory of the season in their fourth match.

As for Swansea City, manager Brendan Rodgers's squad have yet to score a goal this season, but still managed two draws, which is at least more than Arsenal can boast.

Rodgers will be without deadline-day centre back signings Darnel Situ, of France, and Algerian Rafik Halliche, as they await FIFA clearance. However, left back Federico Bessone is available.

Swansea will also be without injured captains and defenders Garry Monk and Alan Tate, as Ashley Williams and Steven Caulker will be called upon in their absence.

The Jacks are led by Scott Sinclair, a 22-year-old winger who has scored 19 goals in 45 appearances for the club.

This is the first time Arsenal and Swansea have played since the 1982-1983 season.

PREDICTION: Walcott and Robin Van Persie will be very aggressive with Monk and Tate sidelined, and Arsenal will get on the board in the first half. Swansea will make an effort to mount an attack, but the Arsenal defense will step up to keep a clean sheet.

SCORE PREDICTION: Arsenal 2, Swansea 0.
