English Premier League heavyweights, Arsenal, are reportedly interested in Udinese's Romanian star, Gabriel Torje, according to the player's agent, who revealed that the club approached him to inquire if he would be willing to sign for them.

Torje, nicknamed the Romanian Lionel Messi, is a versatile right winger, with the ability to swap sides if need be. This is his first season in Italy's Serie A and has impressed in his short spell so far.

It is believed the Gunners are monitoring the Romanian and scouts have been sent to study Torje closely. Gunners' boss, Arsene Wenger, who is rumored to be a big admirer of the player, may try to sign him next summer, if not this January.

According to an InsideFootball report, Torje is under contract with Udinese until 2016.

Gabriel Andrei Torje, who joined Udinese this season, has made 137 appearances for his previous club, Dinamo Bucuresti, and scored 20 times.
