Ellen DeGeneres and Kate Middleton are 15th cousins

It seems like Ellen DeGeneres might actually be receiving an invitation for the much anticipated royal wedding.

E! Online reported that during a segment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show called Ye Olde Wedding Watch, Ellen said Hold onto your crumpets, everybody, and announced that she is related to princess-to-be Kate Middleton.

As wedding bells approach for Middleton and Prince William, DeGeneres received a letter from the New England Genealogical Society which stated that she and Middleton are 15^th cousins.

You are distant cousins ... but cousins still the same, the letter read.

The letter indicated the two women are related through Sir Thomas Fairfax and his wife, Agnes Gascoigne.

I'm definitely invited to the wedding now! DeGeneres said. Between the Packers winning the Super Bowl and this, I'm having a good week.
