The Wimbledon Museum has unveiled a letter by Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, thanking officials for their hospitality during her visit to the 2008 games.
The letter signed "Best Wishes, Catherine Middleton" is on display in a glass cabinet inside the museum. It has been reported that the Duchess was consulted before the museum officials decided to make the letter public.
Dated July 12, 2008, the note has been covered by a Union Jack flag before being placed inside the glad case. The script reads, "Dear Sir. Thank you for your kind hospitality at Wimbledon last week. My friend and I had such a fantastic time and it was great to be able to enjoy the day knowing that we could have a little peace and quite if things got a little too hectic.
"It was a wonderfully relaxed day and we even spent part of it on the "Henman/Murray Hill", which was great fun. I really was not expecting to be looked after with such hospitality and I certainly wasn't expecting to see any of the Centre Court games. I do hope the end of the tournament runs smoothly and this fantastic weather lasts 'till the end of the week. Thank you again for making it such a fun and easy visit."

A rare letter as such, written before she became a member of the Royal Family, the note however contains a few errors.
It has been noted that the Duchess has confused "quite" for "quiet" and "'till" with "'til". Nevertheless, the letter is a rare sample of her handwriting that has been published.
