Did you know that President Barack Obama is left-handed?

Obama is the fifth out of the last seven U.S. Presidents to take the oath as a Southpaw.

Former presidents including Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, Herbert Hoover and James Garfield were also southpaws.

Since 1974, Jimmy Carter and George W Bush have been the only right-handed politicians to have made it to the White House, meaning two-thirds of the nations presidents over the last 30 years have been lefties.

That's an overwhelming percentage when, statistically, only 1 out of 10 of the rest of the population are left-handed.

Republican John McCain was also left-handed.

Lefties are dominated by the right side of the brain, the side that is more associated with artistic function.

An Australian study has shown that lefties think more quickly when playing computer games and sports.
