Once again a bunch of idiots cast votes not for the good of the people or country but in hopes of making themselves known in political circles in order to further their own careers. Nice job folks for simply bowing down and placing the American people and this country in a downward spiral while other countries sit back laugh and pat each other on the back for how stupid some of our elected officials are.

Jun 26, 2009 10:40pm

It would be different if the science behind all of this was credible........but it just isn't. We are cooling.....oh well......another tax........another nail in the coffin now.
3.
Jun 26, 2009 10:51pm

I won't say this is the bill that killed The United States of America, but it definitely was a factor in its death. More todo sbout a musical "icon"'s( to some people) death then the murder of thechild of the greatest experiment in human history. U.S.A. R.I.P.
4.
Jun 26, 2009 10:53pm

How else is Obama going to pay off his cronies who voted for him last November without raising taxes? That's all this is....a big tax increase. It isn't even going to prevent global warming. There are too many loopholes in the bill for industries to really cut back their emissions. The biggest part of this is revenue from people using energy. It is a necessary commodity that people need to fuction, so the politicians package it as an "anti-global warming" bill and sell it to us. It only proves that government is evil and will stop at nothing to consume every last dollar from productive people. It's time for people to take to the streets and demand our government be abolished!
5.
Jun 26, 2009 10:56pm

it is a very sad day. All of the oil states are going to take the biggest hit. Ironic how none went to Obama>
6.
Jun 26, 2009 10:57pm

Sig, are you a scientist? do you have any kind of scientific backgrond? or do you base your opinions on some one hour special you saw on tv?
7.
Jun 26, 2009 10:58pm

Complete and utter fools, but I'm sort of glad it passed. When energy prices double, and when the cost of all goods and services double, and when companies start moving more and more manufacturing offshore where this cap/trade nonsense is not found, these idiots will all be thrown out of office within one election cycle. This is typical over-reaching by the Democrats. Too bad the Republicans didn't act this way during the last 8 years, it might not have come to this farcical bill and this embarrassing vote.
8.
Jun 26, 2009 11:01pm

Why don't we have legislators who rememer Ronald Reagan? So sad that we have a bunch of spineless jellyfish.
9.
Jun 26, 2009 11:02pm

I'm so tired of some of these idiots in Washington making these bad decisions for us. At least 3 of our 4 elected voted "no". Bennie Thompson of MS was the idiot who voted yes and he represents some of the poorest people in MS and this is what he does?! Why aren't they listening to the American people? I think all the Obama fans are waking up and seeing things aren't looking like what was promised. Too bad they didn't see that before they voted. It's time for us to stand up and be heard and get rid of these idiots FAST!! Let's remember this next election time. Hear that Pelosi, Franks and the rest of you????!!!!
10.
Jun 26, 2009 11:03pm

Absolute stupidity. Where in the hell is the investigative reporting in our media? Instead of sucking up to Mr. O, get off your perch and do some unbiased investigative reporting, so the idiots of our country will know what the real truth is. People in this country have gotten so lazy and gullable, they go to the tube for their intellectual guidance. BAD CHOICE America, bad choice.
11.
Jun 26, 2009 11:06pm

Can you people believe that congress doesn't care about us!!!!!!!!!!! It truly makes me sick! All they care about is lining their own pockets! They gave themselves a pay raise while most of us lost our jobs! Now that is what I call fair! Why don't they cut their own paycheck and see how it feels! I pray the senate cares more about us than congress did! I blaim both parties! I just can't believe people believed all this crap! Can they not think for themselves instead of being like sheep and just follow along!
12.
Jun 26, 2009 11:17pm

Enough is enough! When are we going to wake up and do something about this? We all need to make some serious noise and let these clowns that we're not going to take it anymore. Its time for some serious TEA PARTIES where we raise some hell! Every one of the morons that voted for this should be tarred and feathered and kicked out of office! I'm seriously thinking about refusing to pay any more federal taxes. Then again if this shit continues, none of us will have any income so we won't have to pay anyway. Obama never had to make a buck and has no clue how to.
13.
Jun 26, 2009 11:18pm

Ever heard of the expression - give them just enough rope to hang themselves???? Well - there is definitely going to be a shortage of rope very soon, and pitchforks, and torches, and ammo . . . . It's a punch in the gut for America, but the only hope I have is that this will toss the Dem out of power for at least the next 40 years (too bad I'm not real happy with the so-called Republicans in Congress right now either). Our enemies are laughing out loud.
14.
Jun 26, 2009 11:20pm

All I can say is...... Lord PLEASE help us.! Whats going to happen to the working man/woman?
15.
Jun 26, 2009 11:24pm

i cant believe you all have lost the ability to be americans i vote in every election, i pay all my taxes. i love this country. my family has been here since 1645. we have been in the revolutionary war, the war of 1812 , the civil war, the crimean war, the world war1 ,world war 2, korean war, vietnam war , etc ,, etc, my daughter is in the reserves what more do you want. i cant believe the way you think your american. you all are the reasonwe are not respected in this world ANY MORE. NOT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANY INCUMBENT , YOU HAVE RUINED AMERICA THANKS FOR NOTHING
16.
Jun 26, 2009 11:27pm

I will order a bumper sticker that says, FBO, and wear it proudly.
17.
Jun 26, 2009 11:29pm

Hear that sucking sound? Those are the American jobs going to Communist China where no such enviromental standard exist. Truely, is Obama and the democratic party trying to destroy America. We are now getting very close to 10 % unemployment yet they seem to be trying their best to reach much higher levels.
18.
Jun 26, 2009 11:34pm

I for one am sick of 'republocrats' who vote their own interests and to hell with the country and the constitution they swore to defend! If we don't throw them all out Nov. 2, 2010, it's over folks. And that may not be soon enough. Anyone know what realestate is going for in Costa Rica?
19.
Jun 26, 2009 11:43pm

I am sickened that this bill has been passed. Our elected officials continue to let us down. We must get rid of them all and replace with people who will truly represent the people of this country.
20.
Jun 27, 2009 12:04am

I didn't think this bill would go through. I thought the Congress was smarter than this. They are not in touch with the economy or the American people. They have ruined our economy. Our leaders need a wake up call. I challenge all voters to vote against these politicians when they come up for election in the near future. i am proud of Peter DaFazio of Oregon who voted against the bill. I am not happy with David Wu of Oregon for voting for the bill.
21.
Jun 27, 2009 12:17am

I plan to start keeping a record of our idiots we elected! Right now..."Representative" Vic Snyder is on my list of targets to campaign AGAINST for whomever chooses to run against him...Senator Blanche Lincoln...I am already watching you as well! I certainly hope that she is paying close attention to blogs like this one! There IS a tide turning and these so-called representatives should be listening to the people they are supposed to be SERVING! We ARE mad...and are NOT going to keep taking it!!!!!
22.
Jun 27, 2009 12:18am

Is it me or are the incompetents from California actually running this nation and telling the rest of the states what to do? I watched the 3-hour "debate", and I believe not ONE from that state voted against it and many were actually involved in crafting the bill.
23.
Jun 27, 2009 12:20am

Next is "COMPLETE" control over us. There will no longer be a constitution and "WE THE PEOPLE" it will be "WE THE GOV'T" (Brarck). I know I will remember who was for WE THE PEOPLE when it comes time to vote. That is if they don't take that away from us too or they have some way they will supress our votes. What is our country coming to. It's just plain scarey!!!!! Our forefathers are rolling over in their graves....not to mention the brave men and women who died for us to have freedom. We need more Hero's like John Boehner....God Bless him! Keep figthing for us John! Americans remember this day when you go to the polls!!!!!!!!!MORE Tea Parties....Ameircans let's show them who WE THE PEOPLE are!!!!!!
24.
Jun 27, 2009 12:39am

I can't believe that we have to sit here and take this crap, we need the names of the so called Republicans that voted on the wrong side and make it our total being to put them out of office. Those 8 traitors have just cost the tax payers of this country more than we can fathom, I hope they sleep well.
25.
Jun 27, 2009 12:42am

Another example and our non-representing representatives not listening to the people they were elected to serve. I am very disappointed with them, especially the 8 Republicans who voted for this bill. If they wouldn't have voted for it, it wouldn't have passed. Shame on you Mark Kirk and the others who don't listen to "we the people" anymore.
26.
Jun 27, 2009 12:43am

Lets not stand here and take this anymore. Its time for everyone to do something. VOTE 2010
27.
Jun 27, 2009 12:59am

It's another Enron. It won't do anything signficant for the environment; some people are going to walk off with alot of money.

Jun 27, 2009 1:36am

There can be little doubt: the idiots are in charge! I do not believe the best science supports manmade global warming, but even if it does, it most certainly does not support this sorry bill as a viable fix. This is a wealth-transfer tax, plain and simple. No, it is not a jobs bill, Hardly anything BO says is believable. It's time to work to defeat our "representatives" who don't represent us. Henry Cuellar in my district comes home and claims he is a conservative blue-dog democrat. I'm tired of words. Actions speak far louder. First a non-stimulating "stimulus" vote and now this hugh tax vote! He, and a pile like him, have to go.
30.
Jun 27, 2009 1:51am

I am very happy to say my representative voted nay.... Too bad the smart people are outnumbered in this vote just like the last election... If you haven't watched the very entertaining(yet entirely frightening) movie Idiocracy; maybe you should take 80 minutes and get a good look at our future :(
31.
Jun 27, 2009 1:57am

Eight Republicans voted yes for this bill????? Forty-four Democrats voted no????? Shame on those Republicans and hurray for those fourty-four Democrats. I am ashamed to called a Republican.
32.
Jun 27, 2009 2:14am

None Dare Call It Conspiracy by Gary Allen. A very good read that helps this all make sense. Enjoy!
33.
Jun 27, 2009 2:29am

Eh, do you watch nothing but ABC, NBC, and CBS news or do you just base your comment about science on what Al Gore, who by the way isn't a scientist either, has to say? Read non-biased scientific documentation about global warming and you will see that the earth's temps overall are in fact cooling. This has been going on since the creation of this planet -- global warming & then global cooling -- and it's not the fault of Americans. Gore & his cronies had stated there's nothing more to discuss & put a lid on the discussion of global warming (unless you're for it) because they know there's overwhelming scientific evidence out there that will prove them wrong and they can’t have that. This cap & trade is one of the biggest jokes, albeit Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, etc. are running a close neck-&-neck with it. This bill will only cause companies to send their businesses overseas where there is no "emissions control"; it's going to cause our utility rates to soar; and, it's going to cause a significant increase in unemployment. Somehow Michael Jackson's death is more important to the mainstream media than this country's rapid derailment and head on collision course w/ full-on Socialism. Green is good in theory but why not heed the advice of those countries, like Spain, who've gone down this same exact road and have found that it doesn't work and has, matter of fact, increased their unemployment tremendously -- I believe it's at over 17% if I recall correctly: for every "green" job you create you lose 2.5 other jobs. It doesn't take an MBA to figure out that our unemployment rate will almost double to go green. How exactly Mr. President, does that create millions of jobs? And, while we're on that subject Mr. President, why can't you just explain to the American people how you plan to cover all these expenses instead of keeping us in the dark and pushing your crap legislation through under the disguise of "it's an emergency". Why don't you let people know that you plan on cutting back on social security payouts and taking away certain aspects of healthcare from our elderly in your socialized medicine, oh I mean healthcare reform bill. Here's what people don't understand. Our government is no longer scared of "we the people". They laugh at us every time they make these absurd votes. They don't care about what we want or have to say. Look at how the media covered the Tea Parties -- we are just a bunch of extremists that apparently need to be feared. Our elected officials don’t take us serious anymore and it's about time we pull the carpet out from under them. Thank goodness my Rep. Don Young (AK) voted NO on this bill. All I can say is our elected officials better be wary how they vote because their constituents will be watching them closely and the 2010 elections are not that far off. It's time they start listening to what the people have to say instead of pushing the overwhelming outcry to vote NO against this bill like Rep. Charles Gonzalez, D-Texas did. He said, and I quote: "I can't begin to tell you how many calls we've received ... And it's disproportionately vote 'no.'" Mr. Gonzalez, who voted "yes," believes special interest groups generated many of the calls, including the late surge of negative feedback. THIS MY FRIENDS IS HOW MUCH THEY CARE -- they blame "interest groups" instead of realizing that Americans are sick & tired of the way they are running this country into the ground. VOTE THEM OUT!!
34.
Jun 27, 2009 2:32am

Everyone who is against this bill should go the website of their congressman who voted for it and let them know how they feel, then do everything in your power to stop any re-election. I just email Alan Boyd and let him know. It's time these politicians vote according to the wishes of the people - not just to please Obama.
35.
Jun 27, 2009 2:34am

We can listen to and read everything that comes along, it wont matter until we get off our asses and unite against the jackasses we put in a place that they don't deserve and need to be out of. The people that didn't vote, you are not excused from this, you will feel it too so next time spend the time to vote. AND SAVE WHATS LEFT OF OUR COUNTRY!!!
36.
Jun 27, 2009 3:03am

This is the worst vote yet in a series of astonishingly bad votes by this congress! Let's see, we're in the worst recession since the Great Depression and how do the Democrats in congress want to fix it? With the single largest tax increase in all of American history, that's how! By its promoters best guesses it will reduce the CO2 content in atmosphere only enough to lower the temp by 1/500th of a degree! Yeah, that's worth destroying our already severely troubled economy! Either they are so far beyond stupid that it's inconceivable, or they are deliberately destroying this country. With some of them - especially Obummer - I'm leaning toward the latter! I've voted in every election since my 18th birthday. It takes all of about 30 minutes every couple of years to do, and statistically conservatives are the single largest group in the country. So why in the h--- is our country being run into the ground by a bunch of far left IDIOTS?!?!? If the Dems survive the 2010 election cycle I will be truly ashamed of the American people. Even with the mainstream media becoming defacto publicists & PR agents for all the far-left politicians, there is no excuse for people being fooled a 2nd time around. Fool me once...
37.
Jun 27, 2009 3:06am

Do what I did, let you congressman know who voted for this that you will not be voting for him or her again and you will tell everyone you know to do the same.
38.
Jun 27, 2009 3:17am

Dear eh I'm not sure if you would consider me a scientist, but I do hold an undergrad in Chemistry, a Masters in Electrical Engineering, and a PH.d in Computer Science. So, let's just agree that I'm familiar with the scientific process. Your attack on 'Sig' is rather typical. Rather than simply attacking Sig, you should establish your credentials, and then put forward your thoughts and arguments. Sig is correct. You have been used, abused, and emotionally manipulated to willingly surrender you freedoms to a voracious political machine that knows no boundaries. The EPA and other ' experts' on this Bill have published findings that show it is just a tax. Nothing to do with environmental anything. It's just more of the radical left (communists) deconstructing capitalism. Frankly, I wonder what the end-game is. Does their vision have me riding my bicycle 30 miles to work while growing a vegetable garden in my back yard? Or will I be deemed troublesome and obsolete, and the 'collective' decide to use Nationalized Health Care to extinguish my voice and the voices of all my line by practicing the Hitler-like Eugenics that are inevitable? Read the bill, my dear eh. You will find that the Wall Street guys you love to hate are well provided for. It's the same old thing, with different companies and names. And then, worse than that, Obama's many, many, Czars will have the power of regulation to micro-manage your life in every phase. Read the 1500 page bill and get back to me in 8 hours or less, as was required for our elected representatives before they were forced to vote. Obviously, I haven't read anything current, either, since the thing has been carefully hidden (you would be aware of this if you watch C-SPAN). Seriously, eh, you are being used. ALL the "Environmental" folks are being used. I'm a long time hiker who grew up in Texas, England, Scotland, Denmark and Spain. There is no one that is a bigger 'tree-hugger' than me. However, I am compassionate enough to consider the human cost when government actions occur. When I hiked about half the Appalachian Trail ten years ago, I could not escape the truth that Government had grabbed land from working families to make my hike 'nicer'. That was all driven by the 'Environmental' lobby. To hell with the people of Damascus, VA, we rich folks that can afford to take 2 months off work need a peaceful place to hike!!! Well, eh, I have more things to say to you, but I have some code to write, and more to review. My company has just bonused me after holding off for 6 months, in fear of Obama. It turns out that the international nature of my company has made it quite stable, while Obama has destabilized the Dollar. In closing, eh, you are demonstrably too ignorant to have the standing to launch an ideological attack against 'Sig'. I'm sad to say, that does not surprise me.
39.
Jun 27, 2009 3:44am

Helmy, My congressman from California voted against this bill and so did others. I personally am very proud of him. And I'm scared for my future now, angry and feeling quite helpless.
40.
Jun 27, 2009 4:08am

What thje hell just happened in Washington? These criminals have gone to far this time. I am afraid by the time the 2010 elections roll around, to much of this government intervention will have taken root and we may not be able to reverse it. Now we must all call our Senators and try to stop it from passing in the Senate. I am glad to say my represntative a Democrat, Earl Pomeroy,ND. voted against it . The only reason he voted against it is because of all the phone calls he recieved opposed to it. So keep the pressure on. Waiting until the next election may be to late because Obama seems to get everything he wants passed. Oh by the way I am going to a tea party July 2nd on the ND state capitol grounds and you can bet that I will be alot more vocal this time than the last one I went to.

8 republicans jumped ship. Their 8 votes could have defeated this reckless bill. Prepare to reach deeper into your pockets. It's now up to the senate. Contact your Senators now.

Jun 27, 2009 4:18am

I say that we need to remember this vote in the election of new, and I do mean NEW, representatives in the next November elections. Lets get together and vote these bums out. It is time for us to get control of this mess. When a vote like this comes up, the senate and house leadership will go the the members of their respective areas and tell the ones who will have a tough election coming up during the next campaign that they can vote no so they look better. A no vote on this disgusting bill does not mean that the voting member is looking out for us, it could mean that they are only trying to avoid a tough election on the next time around. I am not political but I will do something during the next election that I have never done. I am going to go out and work to get rid of these traitors in the only way that is right. We will need to vote these bums out of office. How many out there are tired of this treatment of working Americans?

I just called every number listed in the "Hall of Shame" listed above. In every case, "mailbox full" message. I just wanted to drop a note that each and every one of them is DONE as a Republican. I guess they will find out soon enough.

I'm absolutly lost and dont know what to do and where to go. Lived here in Hawaii for 30 yrs. I'm on Maui now which is a lot less prejudice here then Oahu but its has been hit so hard cause were just a farm and tourist destination & its time to leave (headed to Austin, TX to try to find some work (lots of jobs for my qualifications.), Oahu has the largest population, the military and state jobs etc...but the reverse discrimination is unbearable because being "Haole"-caucasion prevents you from the good jobs, being treated equally at play, work or school (I have a 8 yr. old son) . One of the comments mentioned here said that states with oil will taxed to the extreme. I was just about to leave in 2 months but this CAP & TRADE has me scared to death! What should I do? TRAPPED IN PARADISE

Jun 27, 2009 5:53am

It was a sleepless night for me. I cannot believe how the American people are so consumed with every sordid detail of the life and death of Jacko, but are oblivious to the Socialist train that is bearing down on them full speed. The mainstream media is certainly the 'enabler' here. They continue to lick Obama's boots and help push his agenda down our throats. Thank God for the blogs. I think that July 4th woud be an excellent time for the mother of all "teaparties".

Oh, boy! Al Gore's getting close to a multi-million dollar payday for his global warming farce! Look what he's been doing...After the vote in the House today, I'm sure he's out celebrating... to those who believe the limbaughs, hannitys, o'reillys, reagans of the world are right wing nuts, you are wrong. we have no objective media in this country other than those mentioned. more interest in wacko jacko because we have become "dumbified", no analysis of what the stimulus bill, health care reform, C&T, major increase in budget etc,etc will do to our country in the long haul. I join most of the comments here that i have a sickness in my soul, we are losing the United States and who gives a twit? The game is for pure unadulterated power, "WE WON", remember those words, our guilt about our history, the bleeding hearts, and a biased media put us in the place of hell.
48.
Jun 27, 2009 7:26am

Lets give a great big "BAAAAAA" for our reps.

Jun 27, 2009 7:39am

With the grace of God you will be ejected from office in 2012 and no longer be able to hurt America. In all of my 73 years I have never witnessed the ignorance and arrogance that this administration and congress has displayed. They will burn in hell for being responsible for hammering the first nail in the coffin that will bury this great country. By the way the left wing fanatics have your heads in a bucket of mud when it come to suggesting that the Americans media is biased when every survey taken suggests that most media is not slanted but deaad left and most Americans are middle of the roaders not left wing liberal;s. The lefty wing librals are intent on bringing this country down. Try to explain where the un-sustainable spending is going to come from. You know not what you do.
51.
Jun 27, 2009 7:40am

And to think.... We could have had Ron Paul, who would have held Washington to the Constitutional standard, exposed the treasonous socialists for what they are, and would certainly veto legislation like this.
52.
Jun 27, 2009 8:04am

For the first time in my adult life, I am very, very ashamed of the congressmen and women who voted for this kind of nonsense.
53.
Jun 27, 2009 8:10am

Why we are electing these morons over and over again? Because we have so many morons around us who believe everything those politicians said. We are loosing our country. Congress,Senate and Obama do not care how we are but saying that they are. They only care about themselves. When American people will have nothing to loose, then and only then something will really change.
54.
Jun 27, 2009 8:15am

I for one have had enough....there is another thing we can do besides vote. The American people can go on strike, refuse to buy any non-essential items. if i do buy its going to be foreign, I'm not going to wait for a slow lingering death of USA.
55.
Jun 27, 2009 8:21am

thats what happens when 50% of the people do not pay any federal tax. these bums in congress care only about themselves. watch how they open our borders so more democratic votes can enter our country. we are losing are freedom. now i see how Hitler made it to the top. some change we are getting.
56.
Jun 27, 2009 8:23am

There goes the clean coal industry and thousands of jobs...there goes lower oil prices and now we will be more dependant on foreign oil.
57.
Jun 27, 2009 8:27am

Just make sure that if your rep voted "yes" that you vote NO at election time. Untimately this will resolve itself when the government either returns to sanity or fails.
58.
Jun 27, 2009 8:36am

Pres. Obama sure is fast. I worry about the amount of damage he is capable of doing in two years. And can it be undone? Do we even have better candidates in this country? The future is bleak!
59.
Jun 27, 2009 8:37am

Everyone of the members of congress who voted yes should be defeated in their next election. I am not surprised but very disappointed.
60.
Jun 27, 2009 8:38am

New name for this CRAP & RAPE.
61.
Jun 27, 2009 8:41am

I know one thing we have to do VOTE ALL THESE OBAMA KOOL-AID DRINKING IDIOTS OUT OF OFFICE!!!! I hope all those idiots out there realize that our freedoms are being taken away from WE THE PEOPLE. None of them know how to read. they are all liers cheats thiefs they are what our country has become a bunch of ME ME ME poloticians that could care less what any of us feel. It is now time to take OUR country back! I will do whatever I can in my state to spread the word to get rid of all of our so called representatives in Washington! Please America take the time in your life and research what is going on other wise before you know it you will be in the middle of a "1984" world. May God bless us and prepair us for what is going to happen, THE END OF OUR FREEDOM !!! Please take action to stop these fools!!!
62.
Jun 27, 2009 8:44am

I second that but Read, Pilosi, and Frank should be on the top of the list!
63.
Jun 27, 2009 8:49am

How on earth did 8 Republicans vote yes on this bill? We need to find out who those 8 are. Have they no compassion on us regular people? Do they not realize what this bill does to our country and its peoples? We, the people need to stick together and call, write, e-mail our Senators and let them know how we feel. This must not pass the Senate!
64.
Jun 27, 2009 8:54am

Instead of tea parties with no results. Just STOP paying TAXES. All of us!!
65.
Jun 27, 2009 8:54am

By next Nov, we will all be feeling this, everything will be effected, not only energy, the cost to ship will skyrocket, food will skyrocket, the coal industry will go out of business, we,ll see a lot of jobs lost and families in dire straights, small business will also be hurt and a lot will not make it. When you vote in November, it should be obvious who not to vote for. Next is the National Health care bill, with involuntary euthenasia so if you or a loved one reach the age of 72...well, we need to cut cost somewhere, so if you get a disease you will be to old to treat. If this is the change you wanted you got it. Government does not know anything about running a business, but these bills will destroy a lot of business.
66.
Jun 27, 2009 8:59am

My state rep. actually came out of rehab to vote yes on this bill. Everyone I know called his office to tell him to vote no on this bill and was told that Patrick Kennedy was still at the "treatment center" and wouldn't be available for this vote. Not that any of us here in Rhode Island would expect anything else from a Kennedy. Maybe we should all send our new higher energy bills to Mr. Kennedy, he can afford it, I can't.
67.
Jun 27, 2009 9:00am

Hey, we're all watching. I will take a long hard look at how these "representatives" have voted and served me. 2010 is coming soon. They should start refreshing their resumes.
68.
Jun 27, 2009 9:06am

voting will only change the names of the idiots who are passing the laws, the only way to stop this distruction of america is to get the military on our side.
69.
Jun 27, 2009 9:07am

Once again, not one of these stupid congressmen read this bill. Not one knows what he/she voted for. I am so sick of having this socialism cramed down our throats I am ready to tar and feather the lot of them. America has a bad case of BO and a simple shower will not cure it. We need a total house cleaning.
70.
Jun 27, 2009 9:07am

The day of the dog is coming!!!
71.
Jun 27, 2009 9:13am

This is the worse Congress ever assembled...way to go voters! You have a chance next year to again try to get it right. Look at the list and vote the dummies OUT who voted to continue this distruction of America. GET INVOLVED!
72.
Jun 27, 2009 9:14am

Now is the time to concentrate on the Senate, hopefully, they will have "common sense."
73.
Jun 27, 2009 9:18am

I'm not sure if I'm more angry about their incompetence or their arrogance.
74.
Jun 27, 2009 9:20am

Either way...They're FIRED
75.
Jun 27, 2009 9:42am

Let's not forget the root cause. It's not the selfish incompetent boobs in congress that are the problem, it's those about us that put them there. I forget who first coined the phrase, and I'm not in the mood to research now to give them credit but, "we have seen the enemy, and it is us". If you feel strongly about saving our country, and don't forget when we sneeze the world gets pneumonia, then you need to address the root cause. Those misguided ones amongst us are the ones who need to hear your anger. They're not your friend if they will throw you and your children under a bus, they are the problem!
76.
Jun 27, 2009 10:00am

I just cannot believe in what's happening in DC. How is this bill helping Americans? This is no more than a Liberal Democratic approval. It has nothing to do with helping the American People other than making Pelosi and Gore and others rich. People wake up. There or 300,000,000 of us and only 545 representing us in DC. They are directly, legally , morally and individually responsible to us. Has any respresentative of your state asked you recently what you wanted. I know no one has ever asked me what I wanted and yet they go around saying I'm voting this way because the people I respresent wanted that way. Now we know that's bull, thay are voting to keep there great jobs in which we pay for all their benefits. Does anyone pay for your benefits? Wake up America. Time is running out.
77.
Jun 27, 2009 10:02am

Today the continuing travesty of the Obama presidency reached another level of insanity with the narrow passage of another "don't read it - just vote for it" bill that will further strap the American taxpayers for generations. This bill, along with the other costly fiascos perpetrated by this administration is going to cause our grandchildren and our great-grandchildren to curse our names for allowing it to happen. And coming right behind today’s stupidity is President Zero’s health care plan that will destroy our heath care system – ask Britain and Canada. Write your Congressman.
78.
Jun 27, 2009 10:16am

Oh say can you see our country is dead.... Thank you Mr Obama for killing this nation... I hope everyone who voted for Obama realizes how much he has lied to them. Remember the no new taxes on anyone making under $250k? Well if I'm not mistaken the price increase in cigarettes was a new FEDERAL TAX. And now with cap and trade we will see our energy prices go up because of a FEDERAL TAX INCREASE. Wake up people this country is being destroyed more and more every day and the worst part is it's our children and grandchildren that are going to pay the ultimate price. The idiots in Washington care nothing about our future generations, they only care for themselves and for keeping you under their control.
79.
Jun 27, 2009 10:26am

Hola Mi Amigos, Welcome to the 3rd World. My fearless leader Hugo Chavez has done to my country what your president is trying to accomplish. Obama and is comrades want total power over the people. Control everything in your daily life and tell you how to live. The only way he can control you is to make you poor and dependent on government. Expect all your rights to vanish if you do not stop this communist infiltration now. Today, you still have the 1st and 2nd amendment and the right to vote. We do not; Hugo will gun us down in the street if we protest. You are not far behind, if you do not act now. Ricardo

As I read through these comments I realize the tide is turning in this country, It is time to take it back. The so called "public servents" that are elected to do not what will keep them in a job or to line their pockets have forgotten why they are there. These fools need to know that thier careers are over. They forget who they work for!! This is OUR country. I hope that anyone who cares about their homeland will contact their state "so called leaders" and let them know that It is over for them if this bill passes the senate. They will be looking for other opportunities to find work in a country that has fallen apart.

I can't believe that we are witnessing the death of America. My family, like a previous poster mentioned of his, fought in the revolutionary, war, war of 1812, civil war, WW1, my dad, WW2, Korean and Vietnam wars for our beloved country. As my 84 year old father states, "This is not the country I grew up in and fought for in WW2." My head is about to explode! Contact your senators to stop this madness. Obama and his minions must be stopped! Our country will not survive if "We the People" don't stand up and take charge of what is happening in Washington. Are there any constitutional lawyers who can find a way that "We the People" can stop the inmates from destroying America? How can Congress vote on a bill that they haven't even read? How is this not against the law and against the Constitution?
84.
Jun 27, 2009 11:33am

Please people remember how your man voted and kick him out of office. No more voting for elite politicians. For me i would rather have an uneducated person than these elite snobs that do not listen to our instructions. It really is time to stand up and KICK THE BUMS OUT!

Jun 27, 2009 11:50am

Yesterday I sat in total awe that the Republicans said, and continue to say, that they didn't have enough votes to stop the Democrats from passing this absurd bill that will do nothing but make people a whole lot poorer and effectively do away with what little control they have over their lives and cause them to be Slaves to an already out of control Government, well the Republicans had a chance to stand up for the American people and do what was best for the People but they blew it. I actually have more Respect for the Democrats that voted No to the bill, and I am a registered Republican voter ( or at least I was until yesterday ) I am saddened and sickened at the gutless wonders that we have in our Government who are supposed to be doing the will of the People and instead are there to line the pockets of themselves and their powerful friends under any guise they can dream up and sneak past the American People. I think that the biggest shortage that we have in the United States of America is a shortage of Americans, and possibly a shortage of backbone in our Government. I say to all, go out and take lots of pictures so you can remember what America once was because in the near future it won't even resemble the America you once knew. :-( Bill R.

Jun 27, 2009 11:53am

Its a sad, sad, shame that this black president and his cronies took such advantage of the death of a very popular black celebrity. How opportunistic of Nancy Pelosi to force a vote on this bill during the media orgasm over Michael Jackson. People, if we do not wake up and become politically active, we will lose what small rights we still have in this country. The last time a government existed which so freely stole our rights, we left that country and founded the United States. Where are we to run this time? We must get out and educate the silent majority about the atrocities our current government is seeking and accomplishing! Please, understand, focusing on our current representatives is not the solution. We must educate the people!!!! NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
88.
Jun 27, 2009 11:54am

It is a sad day for America. It's time to vote the incompetents out of government.
89.
Jun 27, 2009 11:58am

I read these blogs and see on TV how things are so bad, and realistically, actually it's worse the next day. So no matter what we blog about or write in to tv networks it doesn't seem to make a difference with these arrogant politicians. Me personally,I'd rather be poorer than what I am now, and be a free American, than what Obama's trying to create in this country. Is there someone out there smart enough to create a list, naming every politician to be voted out of office, with this list posted prominently on the internet for all to see? (updated after each vote in the house and senate)
90.
Jun 27, 2009 12:42pm

JimE, all politicians should be voted out of office. We do this every election until we get rid of the rich, ambitious and connected people and get back down to the ones that truly care about our country. Pelosi should be the first to go - that woman makes me cringe every time I see her! The silent majority always looses and we end up paying the taxes. When we all loose our jobs, then we can become wards of the state and live off whoever is left. When people get hungry, literally, then things will change.
91.
Jun 27, 2009 1:36pm

Don't blame just the 8 republicans. They all spend their time behind doors smoking on their cigars and laughing at you and me. Do you actually believe they think you would do anything about it? Lets make 2010 the year that shook the world. Lets pay attention to who we are voting for and NOT for a stupid party title. If you don't have any clue who you are voting for, don't...
92.
Jun 27, 2009 1:39pm

It's time to march on Washington, folks. It's time to stop these fools. Our country's liberty is being stiffled, and our legacy squandered. Elections have consequences...and our consequence is the demise our our beloved country. We need a call to demonstrate in Washington by all the good men and women of this country who are not being heard by these foolish and selfish politicians. I am ready to go!
93.
Jun 27, 2009 1:49pm

This is the scariest site I have visited on the web in recent history. We did nothing, NOTHING to resolve energy issues under Bush. As a result, profits soared at the expense of our future. The era of oil and coal is ending, we have to accept that. It might well end cheap energy for a while, but we will get cleaner air, cleaner water and cleaner energy. Pretend global warming does not exist if you must, but our energy policies (as well as China, India etc) are damaging the planet. In order to protect America, we have to get off oil and coal and find new aveues. Scream all you want, if we all listened to this board we would do nothing. And that would make everyone here very happy I am sure.
94.
Jun 27, 2009 1:56pm

G*D DAMMIT!!!!! Passes by 7, and F**KING 8 "Republicans" vot FOR it!!!! I swear to GOD if I ever give the RNC or the NRSC another dime I will check into a mental hospital. How many times to we have to be kicked in the teeth like this????? McCain used to do this to us all the time in the senate, and I think he lost a LOT of votes i the presidential election because of it. I was one of those that refused to vote because he was the candidate. I'm so sick of it.SO sick of them. So sick of losing by 1's and 2's because they put personal gain over party and country. F**K 'em all. And I mean that in the worst possible way.
95.
Jun 27, 2009 2:09pm

I have said that we are a dog, and our government in an infestation of ticks. What Reid,Pelosi, Dodd & the president do not realize is that if you kill the host, there will be nothing left to feed off of. To those who read this, check out authors David Icke, Jim Marrs, Alex Jones, and Glenn Beck's new book Common Sense. I know the first three authors are Conspiracy Therory authors, but it makes you wonder. It is up to us to make the change, and the real deal is that both parties are about their own power, while China waits in the wings to take us over. I would also like to add that there are Hydrogen Power Conversion Kits for our vehicles available to help wean us off of Oil, but when I tried to access a Web Site where I could find information about obtaining one, I was denied access "For Reasons of National Security". So let me get this straight, there is a conversion kit available, and I can't get it, because it may save me money and help wean us off of oil. Yeah Right!! To those in power, enjoy it, because if you think China is going to let you keep it, the joke will be on you!!
96.
Jun 27, 2009 2:11pm

I say we vote them all out when the next election comes around. Yes we will lose some good, but this would be a powerful way to send a message to the ones that did not run, you are next. I would like to know of those who voted yes did you read it all?? I would also like to know if there was analysis to see how this would impact our current mess of an economy or was this just a power grab. Clearly our representative has lost touch with reality and is a total embarrassment to us as a nation. If our founding fathers were alive they would be ashamed of them all.
97.
Jun 27, 2009 2:39pm

All I can say is where was the coverage from other networks so the people of U.S. could be aware or this sham that was going on. We all know what they were showing on the Tube...And Not everyone has cable.. I personally called as many people as I could to notify them about this and when we tried to call the House number it was always busy..( Couldn't get through)...so I called my congressman Kevin McCarthy's number and they not only picked up the phone after hours but assurred me he was a definate NO and was attempting to convince others to really look at how bad this is! I'm all for throwning out those 8 Republicans ...We have to take back our Country before we loose it!
98.
Jun 27, 2009 2:51pm

Steve, As you know we are in a recession right now, and the house just passed the largest tax bill that has ever been voted on. This is total destruction for this country. This my man will effect you directly in every aspect of your life. Global warming is B.S. the push by all the media and government and your buddy Al Gore was to set us up for what the house just passed, A huge tax increase and we will all pay...... all for a fake idea of global warming. Sad,sad times.

Jun 27, 2009 3:23pm

I'm with all of you that are upset (at the very least). 2010 is a long time away, will we make it as a nation until then? I"ve read the "open letter to our nation's leadership" and agree with every point the author made. There is a petition to sign if you agree..check it out! In the mean time we do need to keep the pressure on with e-mails, letters, phone calls anything we can think of. The senate may be our last hope.Check some sources on global warming oops I mean "climate change" since now the globe isn't warming. Dr. Will Happer Global Warming Physicist- Climate Research News, Alan Carlin, senior operations research analyst for the EPA'S National Center of Environmental Economics (if you can find his study since the EPA buried or ignored it) are a couple of sources to start with. Science doesn't support the greenhouse gas theories. There are now 13 TIMES as many scientists who don't support global warming as those that do. GO FIGURE!! We must make it abundantly clear how we feel and what we don't want. We are not stupid as the politicians seem to think we are, but we have been apathetic. Now instead of someone else doing it for us, we have to take action and encourage every one we know to do the same. WE ARE WATCHING DC AND WE ARE COMING FOR THOSE WHO ONLY REPRESENT THEMSELVES-NOT THE AMERICAN CITIZEN!!

Want to get even with Congress if the Senate approves this ridiculous Cap and Trade bill? Just make certain when the Health bill is proposed all of us DEMAND that the current congressional health plan is canceled and replaced by the same plan, word for word, what they are proposing for us! Otherwise, vote tham all out of office at the first opportunity! congress

These are all complaints and actions we can take for the 2010 election. Do we have any actions we can do right now? Attendance at Tea Parties are, of course, a must! But are there actions we can do to put the fear of God in these idiots right now? Can any of them be recalled or impeached? Lawyers, how about any kind of law suits? Protests at any events they are attending? Maybe we can use the tea party web sites to organize better. Definitely everyone should get on the RNC site and demand new candidates that represent our beliefs and interests. Do it today!

Yes me again. You keep saying vote the bums out. But career politicians like Pelosi and Reid keep getting re-elected by idiots in their states. How can we change the nuts in San Francisco for example? They think Pelosi is wonderful..Like I said there needs to be a list of names that lets people know not to vote for this person so that will be all they think about in the voting booth AND let someone in your State know if they think like you they will be voted in...By the way I'm sick of McCain and I'm a 67yr old republican.

I live in what Obama calls his home state. Folks, this guy was raised by a radical left wing mother. A flower child of the 60's. The guy does not know the culture of Amercia. He spent half or more of his lifetime in Indonesia and other far places. When he did settle he settled in the cess pool of Chicago politics. What did you expect? We in downstate Illinois have fought it for many years. The man has lived his life on the radical left and never worked in the private sector. He doesn't have a clue!!!! He is a socialist/communist plain and simple. When will America wake up to what he really is?...........Then you have Pelosi who says "You don't need God now, you have us democrats". This "Hopey Changey" thing isn't working out too well is it? Then you put weak spined republicans in the mix. Folks the country is rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell. The 2010 election may be too late but we have to throw them all out and start all over again. Remember, no president can do anything without Congress and he has this one in his pocket. We have to change it. "Tea Party" and "Freedom Fest" until then and lets throw all their asses out and start over. Take his enablers away and he will fall.

I agree with 98% of everyone on here. Unfortunately, I don't have much faith in the American voter anymore. Pelosi, Reid, Waxman, Kennedy, Rangle, Boxer, Frank and their like continue to get re-elected. People are more concerned with what's on tv than who's in the House. Who's more ignorant, those on the Hill, or those who keep sending them there?

I believe that most all of you are missing the actual life saving benefits of the passage of this bill--a healthier planet and better health for all of us and our future generations. Most of you are complaining about the Government having too much control and what the cost will be to our economy and/or the individual--which is very debatable and is not known at this time; however, I would like to ask you a question and that is "WHAT VALUE DO YOU PLACE ON YOUR HEALTH AND THE HEALTH OF OUR PLANET"? You do not discuss this, but I do know that the health problems of individuals in our country have never been as bad as the research/studies reflect it is now. I believe that this is a direct result of the chemicals and pollution that we are flooding into our environment and into our bodies. This is the result of naive individuals who do not read about the chemicals contained in the foods they eat, products they use and in the houses where they live. In most instances the corporations who produce these man-made chemicals/products do not care about the harmful long term effects (or even the short term effects) to our health, other life forms, or the health of our planet—it is only the bottom line in sales and profit that matter to them. So the passage of this bill will be limited too, and try to rectify, only part of the problem of the harm that our modern civilization is causing to our environment and to us. We only have our Government (which is not doing a very good job because big business controls them to a very large extent) to protect the individual, other life forms, and our planet.

Outraged is an under statement that this bill passed! They all knew that WE THE PEOPLE said "NO", loudly and boldly. Attend the tea parties in your area, I am. Corrine Brown from Florida voted "yes", she is on my list to replace. Thank God Ander Crenshaw, Mica and Stark voted "NO" as they heard the people of Florida and they understand the devastion that this bill passing is going to cause. All the ones that ignored their employers voices will soon be fired. This is not a partisan problem, the problem is GREED across all isles in DC. I URGE you all to stop saying they are NOT LISTENING, they hear us but do not heed our voices as the voice of GREED is drowning us out. They need to act responsibly when they hear our voices, but instead go about "their" agendas to fatten their bank accounts BEFORE they are booted out. That is why these bills are passing at the speed of lightening. They know we are MAD and DAMN MAD and they know and hear the engines at the hearts of all Americans gearing up, reving up ever louder and they know their days are numbered. We need to ACT faster, bolder, stronger and come together on the steps of the White House and stay there until we are SEEN, HEARD and HEEDED. We need to stop paying taxes on April 15th, we need to go on strike, ban together to feed, water and clothe each other until they understand us when we say "ENOUGH IS A FRIGGEN ENOUGH" We will have WORLD WIDE MEDIA ATTENTION, just like Iran with their people in the streets fighting for the right to elect who they want in office. If they can do it, we can too! The only US Media attention will be from FOX, the rest are so far up B.O.'s butt, they will hardly come out for air, alone report the TRUTH. I assure each and eveyone of you reading this that if the military be called to disban us, they will stand with us, as they are FED up with this too. They are being treated like dirt and "Right Wing Extremists" as they are refered to in the Anti-Terrorist Alarm that was recently issued, then apoligized for. According to that "warning" all of us on this blog fit into their "suspect" list as well. I was ready to march on Washington when we said "NO, and "HELL NO" to the TARP BAILOUT and they did it anyway! I wrote to newspapers and to senators and congressman and state reps. I was screaming NO NO NO at the top of my lungs over that stupid ass program, as I am sure all of you were. I think we are awake, enough of us are anyway, to make the difference. We all want to take action, but for whatever reason we just type on blogs. Perhaps the organizers of the Tea Parties can ban together over the internet and organize ONE MARCH on a certain day to D.C. Oh here's a little tid bit I would like to share which most of you are probably unaware, the IRS received 11 BILLION DOLLARS (Yes, our taxpaying dollars) in TARP BAILOUT money, interest free, mind you, to hire new employees to "ensure taxpayer compliance" It is currently undergoing the largest hiring in it's history. B.O.S promise to create NEW JOBS. Of course, these are temporary jobs, as they will not have the money to sustain the hiring of all those new employees. Let me bottom line it for you, taxpayers money to ensure that we continue paying taxes. I promise you all this is very true, I received an email from a "friend" who works at the IRS, it was an interdepartment memorandum sent from the head guy himself, making this announcement. The memo said "tell your friends and family that we are now hiring and all of you will be moved up into higher positions as we bring in these new employees." She sent it to me, knowing my own small business is going under and I have a degree in accounting. She actually thought I would apply to work for the IRS, just so I would have a job! I wouldn't work for those traitors if it were the last job on the planet. Anyway, that's an outrage that is unnacceptable to me. See you at the Tea Parties and hopefully on the White House steps.

Your frustration is understandable, and even justified. BUT! Take that energy and direct it at your senators. We have from now until this goes to the senate for a vote to fill our representatives email/voicemail inboxes letting them know this is NOT what we want, and that WE WILL VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE if they vote YES on this in the senate. I attempted to call my Senator today here in Ohio and his voicemail inbox was already full. That's an EXCELLENT sign. Tell your friends to call your senators, tell your family to call, tell your neighbors to call!!! WE can stop this, no matter how insurmountable it seems!!! Power to the People! =)

Hey Roger, you have been mislead by the propaganda. How does Ohio, a coal based state, buying pollution credits from Colorado do anything to clean up the air? It just moves my had earned - oops, I am currently unemployed - it just moves my unemployment compensation (while I still get it) to Colorado and the other 'clean' western states - ahem, like Pelosi's California!
110.
Jun 27, 2009 7:26pm

Roger what happened to you ? Fail science class or just don't know what CO2 is, open a soda its every where and has been from the beginning you exhale it. you are going to pay a tax on a thought that's all it is a total screwing of the American people to make them richer and the worker bees poorer. People like you buy into this crap and don't research it thus we wind up screwed by our own ignorance. All that's left is contact the Senators which we in California haven't got a prayer.

Jun 27, 2009 8:14pm

We have reached a new low in American politics. Our so-called leaders are willing to create a factious story predicting global disaster in order to advance their personal gains. What a collection of trash we now have in all levels and branches of government. I encourage all Americans who can still think for themselves to vote and remove any who have been in office for more than 6 years. Don’t be persuaded by TV and the media to do again and again just as they want. Apparently, the good-old-boy network has reached a new high and needs to be dismantled.
113.
Jun 27, 2009 8:17pm

Agreed, this a sad day in America!! After serving the country I love for 10 years, for the first time in my life I am now wondering what it is all for. Somewhere along the way, politicians forgot the fact that they are the employees of the American people, they are there to serve us, not the other way around. Not to mention that this (global warming) is all based on a disproven theory, and is only being used to grab power, line their pockets and strip our freedoms!! This should be America's wake up call, anyone in congress that voted yes on this bill should be voted out of congress next term!! Americans need to vote in responsible stewards of the people!
114.
Jun 27, 2009 8:25pm

We the people put them in office and We the people can take them out. Remember this next election, unless acorn rigs the election. Michigan reps who voted for this bill will get an e-mail from me.
115.
Jun 27, 2009 8:44pm

It is all coming to pass just like the 1950's movie. getting people to pay a tax on something we expel every time we exhale, CO2. This is a joke, right. No, the joke is on us. al gore was on capital hill the other day spouting off about how we need this bill to stop global warming. the truth is al gore is invested in a company that will be in a position to trade these carbon credits. he stands to make millions if not billions when this monstrosity gets going. nancy pelosi is also invested in another company set to make a killing when it all starts up. this is a conflict of interest for her, but not a peep from anyone. Basically, what will happen when this all plays out is the govt. will have complete control over everything you do that they say will leave a carbon foot print. that's exactly what they want, the power to tax you on everything you do and to tell you what to do. my congressman, Jason Altmire D,Pa. voted no on the bill. when i called his DC office before the vote yesterday to express my feelings about the bill they said they were being swamped with calls from people telling him to vote no on the bill. I guess he got the message. I emailed him and thanked him for using common sense and not following in lock step with Obama. But those 8 traiterous republicans could have shot this thing down. we need to plaster their names all over the internet and let them know they just committed political suicide!!
116.
Jun 27, 2009 8:48pm

JUst incredible. The calls against this massive tax grab must have been 100-1 and yet these politicians vote their stomachs. Time to target them for extinction soon.

Jun 27, 2009 9:17pm

For those who think everyone is less healthy, a word of advice for you young folks. Stop filling your bodies with dope, stop going to the hamburger joints and get out and do a little excercise and you will feel better, also live longer. For the planet, it is doing just fine. It has its ups and downs, high and low temperatures and it will out live all of us. Politicians and Obama are the ones that will kill us all. Also food from China. Read labels, or grow your own.
118.
Jun 27, 2009 9:41pm

After reading subsquent posts after mine I have to respond again. I note the "Greenie" or two joining the discussion. This planet has rejuvenated itself for millions of years. Another writer pointed out that the number of scientists that do not go along with this global warming theroy (and thats what it is) far out number those who do.........Face it. These are the same folks that can't predict the weather accurately next week, much less 100 years from now. All reports now are that we are in a state of global cooling, a normal process that has went on for millions of years. Get off it and get real. They're telling us now that cow farts are contributing to global warming. Where will these radicals stop??!!!...........Here in Illinois we have to deal with Chicago where they think Illinois stops at the I-80 !!! We have Durbin and Burris !!! Believe me they will hear from this old retired cop. Just for the record. Believe it or not these two guys were once decent guys as far as politicians go. Durbin went to Washington and crawled in bed with Ted Kennedy and that was the end of his honesty and concern for the people. It became all about power and money. As for Roland Burris. Well, what can we say. He has the scent of "Blago" all over him and we know what he is...........Attend a "Freedom Fest" on the 4th. Thousands will gather across the nation then. Make Obama and his "Czars" "AWARE" of us. I'm going to. We must fight back!!! I'm 68 years old and I'm not about to give my country to them without a fight, even if it goes to the streets.

Jun 27, 2009 10:18pm

Jun 27, 2009 11:22pm

It's time to shout it out so everyone can hear folks, We want new Politicians in DC.... We want new Politicians in DC..... We want new Politicians in DC, so Politicians, pack you bags, you're gone be FIRED. call every working hr, let them get sick of hearing your name. Martians of Florida went under ground. so many calls. He will not be on the ticket next election. I was hoping to vote him out... He loves 12 mil Mexicans who just got here. He wants them to be able to stay,go get there brother, sis, mom and dad. I DON'T THINK SO.

Jun 27, 2009 11:30pm

Did any of you complain about the Bush administration and the mighty republicans when they decided to waste hundreds of billions on invading Iraq for absolutely no reason? Or, I guess you believe wasting tax payers money is just peachy as long as people die as a consequence? How about the billions we've wasted on missile defense shields that don't work correctly? Or, star wars -- a really good Reagan idea. Do any of you have even the tiniest clue what is bankrupting the US? Here is a hint: our current massive massive massive debt started and is still primarily fueled by republican backed defense spending. Guess what: the Soviet Union does not exist anymore. Here is a radical idea: how about we spend some of the billions we would otherwise spend over the next decade securing foreign oil supplies to secure our energy supply here in the US? We are smart enough to do it, and in the process we will be building valuable infrastructure here at home. Here is another idea: How about if everyone against cap and trade signs contracts promising that they and their children will voluntarily give up your property and savings to the rest of us IF climate change does eventually erode our ability to grow crops and obtain enough drinking water. If you are willing to sign such contracts, you have my full support in gutting all attempts to live sustainably. Ready to put your money were your mouths are?

People, please do not hesitate to vote against any person who voted for this bill in 2010. If they are going to vote for something this ridiculous, God knows what else they'll vote for. Please remember that they are only in office if we put them there.

The people on this blog all seem to love it because they all agre with each other about how right they are and about how stupid or evil or arrogant people who disgaree with them are. Things would be a lot better if people could actually listen to what people on the other side of the argument were saying and why, even if you think they are wrong, they are not necessaily satanic morons.

If you don't want a big strong Army, a president willing to use it. , a people that thinks this country is better than any other. the ability to earn a dollar and to spend it on anything you like .to be born here and live like the American I have been for the past 67 yrs. my mother,my grandmother,Great grandparents and even before them born here in this great America, Than yes Ron, Yes you and your people are stupid. It is usually the ones that just got here or the first generation that think like you. If we leave things up to you and your side. we will be eating the same food at night.driving the same little care.and yes wearing the same coler pants every day. does that sound like some place you know?

Jun 28, 2009 6:04am

Yes I know it should be color not coler, Folks this is my last blog so please .please vote the next election to rid all of the nuts in DC. republicans and democrats, If they don't think like we do, common sense way of solving a problem they have to go. Thanks Bye Bye.

Jun 28, 2009 8:43am

I'm sure Pelosi, Gore and bo sat up till late Friday night celebrating how they and other socialists have manipulated congress and the media. Look at how Iran is blocking honest reporting and ignoring the dissent with propaganda over their state-owned single TV station. This is where we are headed under this insidious administration. The mere fact that they misdirect attention away from their legislative agenda and rush it through like thieves in the night ought to be the red flag to everyone that their real motive is to bring America down. Our congress proves daily they are nothing but a bunch of mindless, spineless bootlicking suckers.

Message for all Reps voting for this crap...obviously against the will of the vast majority of average American folks...."Be careful of the nation you create because many of you will be living in it as civilians after 2010 and then even more after 2012 and 2014

Jun 28, 2009 1:19pm

To craziness, who thinks all people who opposed this bill, will in ten years look back and say what was I thinking. I say in 10 years when we will be sliding to a third world status because of our slimey politicians ,(maybee not you because you are to stupid to se it) how could those fools betray us in such an obvious way. The good Lord put more natural resources in our country than most other places on the planet , and I would guess he is just mystified with why we just don' take advantage of them. In the state of ND which by the way we are running a BIllion $ SURPLUS despite our politicians, because of coal and oil, and we have some of the cleanest air in the country even with all the coal and oil. There is so much coal here that in one of the lakes you can actually see the coal shale on the shore line . Would it not make sense to just keep improving clean coal tech. By the way I hear about all the states suffering huge money shortages i.e.,California I say utilize your natural resources off shore drilling dahh!!!! and quit complaining like a bunch of babies. But the real problem is Politicians because by definition all they do is politic never solve anything just create more crisis to further teir own agenda.
131.
Jun 28, 2009 3:52pm

I can't believe the insane distruction that is being done to our country. And he hasn't even been in office 6 months. When so many people call Congress that we shut the switchboard down, you know this is not what the people want. He's just another Hittler - hitting us with so many things as fast as he can. Laws don't apply to him either. Look at how he fired Inspector General Gerald Walpin and nothing is done. I just pray the Senate has more sense than Congress.

Jun 29, 2009 1:01pm

It's time to take OUR Government back! Here are some things we ALL can do: 1. The most important thing we can do is to return to God. As a nation we must return to church and begin living our lives based on Godly principles. God will sustain us through any difficult time that may lie ahead of us. President Adams said: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." George Washington said this government would only work if we had a moral people. "[T]he message of The Federalist reads: no happiness without liberty, no liberty without self government, no self government without constutionalism, no constitutionalism without morality -- and none of these great goods without stability and order." Clinton Rossiter (Preface to Mentor Edition, 1961) (taken from “The Roots of our Constitutional Liberty” as found at: http://www.liberty1.org/roots.htm.) From George Washington’s Farewell address: ""[V]irtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government . . . Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. Let it simply be asked where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice? And, . . . whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on the minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles." (ibid) 2. Like our Founding Fathers we must “with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, …mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor” and we must be prepared and willing (as they were) to lose it all for our country, our liberties, our families, and our neighbors. If you are not prepared to lose it all, you may waiver. 3. We the people must symbolically sign our John Hancock to the founding documents of this nation. We must all support and defend the Constitution of these UNITED States. 4. We MUST educate ourselves in the principles upon which the Constitution was founded. Read “The 5000 Year Leap” by Skousen. 5. Learn everything you can about your representatives, their philosophies and views on the constitution, the bills they’ve sponsored or co-sponsored, and their voting record (did they voted for laws that weakened the Constitution and our rights). 6. Teach your children. Don’t depend up the public school system to teach your children about the Founding Fathers, the founding documents, and the history of our country. 7. Band together! Join grass-roots groups and plan together how to best take back our government. 8. No Violence! If your representatives voted contrary to the will of the people and the principles of the Constitution, vote them out of office!
135.
Jun 29, 2009 1:34pm

My pathetic excuses for congressmen voted this tragic injustice thorough... every one of them. They have proven again and again that they do not care about representing anyone in this state, only promoting themselves and voting themselves more power.

There are only 435 "representatives in Congress.....We have to vote out the people who misrepresent us!!! We need to encourage and promote the change we want and not the change to total govt control.......Less than 100 years ago the people of Germany were brought to the brink of destruction by a smoooooth talking Socialist.....we cannot sit by and be controlled by Tsars, bureaucrats and responsible for the health care of illiegal aliens We need to regain our Freedom.....Happy Independence Day!!

Spain created a "cap & trade" along with 27 other Euro Nations. The greenies say "see, it works"! In reality Spain has 20 per cent unimployment with no end in sight. 85% of the money raised in this tax bill will go to gov. management /beurocracy & special interests. Ony ONE copy for all our elected officials to see? JUST ONE amonst all our elected officials? Besides who the hell can read a bill with One thousand five hundred pages in two hours? Which democrat says they read the bill & understood it's ramifications? Answer: None

Just a quick teaser: President Barack = PB = Pb = lead. Lead is a heavy metal, and is poisonous. Lead is weighing the economy down and poisoning this country. Let's get the lead out of the White House!
139.
Jun 29, 2009 11:03pm

Hey, this passed the House, but hasn't been vetted in the Senate yet. Time to contact your State Senators and express your feelings. This CAN be defeated in the Senate. There are only 100 of them, so we can flood their phones and e-mail boxes urging them to kill this legislation. Remember: The first job of all politicians is to get reelected! Let them hear your voice; tell them voting this through will not get your vote next election cycle. Politics comes first in Washington, everything else comes second.
140.
Jun 30, 2009 2:32am

I suggest, rather than Tea Parties at State Houses, since they're all on vacation anyway.....we hold Tea Parties on the front lawns of the homes of EVERY Rep., Democrat and Republican, who voted for the destruction of our country!! We need to be IN THEIR FACES.
141.
Jun 30, 2009 2:42am

Really? I'll sign it....when you "self sustaining" Dims all move to one of your "compassionate" sanctuary cities, take free-loading illegal aliens with you, and sign a contract saying you're willing to provide for ALL your OWN military defense.
142.
Jun 30, 2009 1:05pm

We, as Americans, better hope and pray the Senate doesn't follow in the footsteps of the House.

My rep did not vote for this, but I am sure my two liberal Dem senators will. I am all for caring for the environment, but I do not want government taking more of the economy in the name of saving the environment. All this bill will do is stifle business and make us all poorer.
145.
Jul 1, 2009 2:20pm

How can you sign a bill the the size of the Oxfor-English dictionary, read it and understand it in less than 24 hours? This is a crime against theAmerican people and an insulted to their intelligence!! By the way my "conservative" Republican Congressman (chris Smith (NJ)) voted for the bill.

Here's a riddle: How can you tell when Obama is lying? When his mouth is open.
147.
Jul 5, 2009 2:19pm

I am encouraged with all the responces to this article. Seems like everyone is more concerned about Michael Jackson's funeral to notice what is about to happen. I live in Illinois and I have to tell you here in the Chicago area seems like everyone has blinders on with what I call "The can do no wrong Obama song". God forbid you tell anyone what's going on whithout being called a racist. We're drowning more and more debt. FYI: The last time we were out of debt was the Andrew Jackson administration. Throwing our country so far in debt we will never get out is not good enough for President Obama's administration. They need to skyrocket utilities and fuel costs. The sadest part of all this is that Obama is only doing what he promised to do in his campaign. People were told that he was going to tax the very rich, and everyone seemed to be ignorant to the fact that the cost of living would go up for the corporations to make up the difference. In eight years we will be talking about what America use to be. Some think Obama is the second coming I believe it after all he is recreating our country in his own image. God bless you all!

both reps from NH voted in favor of higher taxes and against capitalism at the same time that our country is in massive recession. F-ing 'Tards. I'm moving to another country.

I'm sitting in the middle of California watching the state dry up literally because the politicians can't seem to find enough brain power to send the water down the canals so the farms can grow the food for most of the country and we expect them to understand anything at all about cap and trade that does nothing. The thing that bothers me the most is that some mealy mouthed kid will try to explain it and they don't have a clue, it makes me wonder who will run the county when all of the patriots are gone.

I thought PB stood for President Bush? Anyway, more Republican scare tactics trying to make voters think the country is going down the drain. People wake up, Obama is only trying to undo the damage Bush and his cronies did over 8 years. As for voting out "those stupid congressmen", puh-leeze. People have been threatening to vote out their representatives for 60 years... and they haven't done it yet. And to the guy who said he's moving to another country, well... don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya!

I want each one of the RINOs who voted for this available for debate. In fact, I take them all on as a group. I'd love to watch them try to "pontificate" out of what they cannot answer and do not understand. I get the feeling that this bunch of Mother Earth groupies most likely represent instead a gaggle of politicking, self-centered, careerists who don't have a clue as to the depth of this ignorant rant about the planet. EVERY ONE OF THEM SHOULD BE VOTED OUT OF OFFICE! As for the "Live in Denial Democrats" who have been self-hypnotized into thinking they are doing a "good thing": WAKE UP YOU SCIENCE-ILLITERATE, sooth-saying, socialist bologne-throwers. You remind me of the students in college who sleep right through the lectures, haven't learned anything, and then go out to champion a cause in the public realm...you know, like Al Gore who earned a D in his science class at Harvard!
