Apple’s ‘Completely Different’ Mac On its Way? What to Expect?

Apple is rumored to be readying a completely new device that may create another category of computer, a Japanese Web site reports.

A blog post at macotakara.jp says the device is a new product and the company will be giving the device a new name. But no details are known.

“According to anonymous source in Asian supplier company, Apple seems to be preparing project to release new Mac line-up which is absolutely different from current products until end of this year,” the site said.

Some speculate that Apple will be launching a laptop that will run iOS instead of OS X and can more easily access licensed content like movies, TV shows, and other media in Apple's domain.

“Though this source didn't say anything in detail, this new Mac line seems to be a clearly different product from current ones, so new product name could be given,” the site added.

Any claims about the Mac OS X and iOS merging, or a new unannounced Apple product are still being considered as rumors, according to the Pop Herald.
