Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress to Fetch Record $13 Million (PHOTOS)

Kate Middleton's wedding dress, which was put on display for the public at the Buckingham Palace on July 23, has attracted about 354,000 visitors so far, and the final ticket sales is expected to total $13 million by the time the exhibition closes on Oct. 3.

According to the Buckingham Palace spokesperson, the profits from the exhibition will be donated to William and Kate's wedding charity fund, while some proceeds will also help pay for the restoration costs of the Royal Collection.

The ivory and white wedding dress with cowl neck and veil, designed by British designer Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, won over the fashion press and public when Catherine Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, walked up the aisle of Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.

Other items on display at the Royal Wedding Dress exhibition include the Cartier Halo tiara having 1,000 diamonds, a pair of diamond earrings and a pair of hand-stitched, laced stilettos, also designed by Burton, worn by Kate Middleton at her royal wedding to Prince William.

Buckingham Palace expected record crowds this summer with up to 650,000 people to file into Queen Elizabeth's London residence and past Kate Middleton's wedding dress, Reuters reported.
