Will Ferrell had a pretty nice little Sunday. He was going to go to Home Depot. Maybe accept the 14th Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Yes, Will Ferrell -- he of Saturday Night Live and Funny or Die creator and comedic movie star and George W. Bush impersonation fame -- received the nation's top humor award Sunday night at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

His resume includes SNL and films such as Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Blades of Glory. We would add Old School, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and maybe Elf, because Blades of Glory just wasn't any good.

Alas, this is a celebration of Will Ferrell's comedic talent. And Ferrell promptly celebrated by... fumbling the Mark Twain statue and watching it shatter! No one saw that coming! Come on, Will.

Not one of his best comedic moments. But again, since this is a celebration of his talent, here are some of his most laughter-inducing, stomach-hurting moments. I don't know if I can stop at any particular number. I'll do one. I'll do one.

10. Step Brothers
OK, yeah, I’m doing 10. Once it hits your lips. This entire movie, and this entire scene, contain some of the most crude, offensive humor – and Ferrell and John C. Reilly perfect it. I’m not going to call it better than Anchorman, though. Ever. Even if there’s a fire.

9. Eastbound & Down
Ferrell plays a BMW dealer named Ashley Schaeffer, and it is magical. Opposite star Danny McBride (who plays Kenny Powers), Schaeffer gives perhaps the greatest speech ever when Kenny accepts a showdown with Reg Mackworthy, complete with the phrase “powerful thrusts.” Woo!

8. Wedding Crashers
This is Ferrell’s most famous cameo, though one in “Starsky and Hutch” is also up there in comedy. Tell me every time you have meatloaf, you don’t think of this season. You’re telling me you don’t? I never know what you’re doing…back there. Fine. But it’s still pretty funny.

7. Elf Santa Impostor
It’s the SantaLand Diaries, except Ferrell is Buddy the Elf, a real elf. And he came to New York from the North Pole. He recognizes that the store he works in does not employ the real Santa. Hilarity ensues on the Throne of Lies.

6. Talladega Nights
Ricky Bobby named his sons Walker and Texas Ranger. Bravo, Mr. Ferrell. Bravo.

5. Frank the Tank
“Zoolander” was funny and all, but “Old School” cemented Ferrell’s status as an A-list comic movie star. His most famous scene, of course, went through the quad, and into the gymnasium. He did not bring a green hat. But everyone was doing it.

4. Ron Burgundy
This movie spawned a generation of college students quoting Will Ferrell and Co.’s movies. Thanks, Ron Burgundy.

3. Harry Caray
Watch this whole five minute clip, please. Will Ferrell captures Harry Caray’s quizzical and, at the same time, clueless style. Go ahead, watch it. You’re curious like a cat. That’s why your friends call you Whiskers.

2. Celebrity Jeopardy
Will Ferrell is the straight, miserable Alex Trebek on this “SNL” skit, opposite such colorful personalities as Sean Connery, French Stewart, Burt Reynolds and, of course, Turd Furguson. I’ll take “Colors that end in ‘Urple’” to move on to No. 1…

1. George W. Bush
Without a doubt, this is what defines Will Ferrell throughout his career. He started it on “SNL” and perfected it on Broadway. I don’t know how to put this, but it’s kind of a big deal.
