Occupy Wall Street's "Day of Action" was met Thursday with some disdain and sighs by locals, but participants charged forward early and often -- usually into a wall of New York Police Department officers. The protesters' numbers sporadically rose and fell throughout the day, as cops successfully broke up large swells of humanity marching up and down the streets of Manhattan.

Occupy Wall Street's rallying cry is the phrase: "We are the 99 percent!" But new data compiled by The Guardian suggests the numbers may actually be 99.9 percent... versus the 0.01 percent of America's most wealthy.
