Small-time Pakistani actress and model, Veena Malik, is back raising controversy; this time for nude photo shoots on the cover of FHM India magazine's December issue. The cover photograph shows the 33-year-old posing with an ISI (Inter Services Intelligence, Pakistan's premier intelligence agency) tattoo on left arm.

The actress has unleashed a barrage of denials and accusations since the photographs surfaced, seemingly reluctant to accept the reality of a photograph session that, according to Kabeer Sharma, the Editor of FHM, and the session's photographer and stylist, took place in Mumbai on Nov. 22.

Recent reports have made the whole controversy even more interesting. Sharma has indicated that two sessions took place on the day. These were done as part of the same sequence but shot in two separate frames. The second one, allegedly, shows Malik posing nude, with a grenade held between her teeth. Predictably, these photographs have not been released and they were rejected, for being slightly explosive. Sharma's comments came in an interview with India Today.

We had two options for the shoot. The first was the one that appears on the FHM cover of December. The other, where Veena poses nude with a grenade in between her teeth, was deemed slightly explosive, so we rejected it.

“We had approached Veena directly instead of going through her publicists and most of the correspondence was done via emails. While shooting for the photo-op Veena seemed very happy and comfortable. In fact, we shoot with celebs regularly and I must say she was one of the celebs who have been easier to shoot with, said Sharma, who was present at the shoot.

“She was very comfortable with her sexuality,” he said adding, “Every detail including the ISI tattoo concept had been clarified to her and we went ahead with the shoot only after she okayed it.”

The idea to have ISI written on her arm was mine, and it was Veena's idea to have it in block letters, he added.

At FHM, the biggest lifestyle magazine here, we do not need to resort to controversy… For us, it is another beautiful cover, clarified Sharma, when talking about the accusations of the shoot being a publicity stunt.

Sharma went on to add that Malik has not been in touch, asking to either modify or remove the image.

Malik is no stranger to controversy, having gained fame by appearing on Indian television's reality show Bigg Boss. The nude photograph scandal notwithstanding, the actress is all set to return to television, with another reality show, Swayamvar, which is in its fourth season. Report suggest that she has been paid a whopping Rs. 3 crores for the show.
